Because the guy who runs the event is tired of putting a lot of money & effort into an event, then having it be ruined by guys who drive/act like assholes and piss off both the cops & the businesses that let them use their parking lot.

He makes it pretty clear in the forum post linked.

That sucks. I am worried about Cars and Coffee Irvine's fate once they finish the new condos across the street. As it is a large gathering, it does attract a number of assholes, and I have trouble imagining that it won't have to be moved again.

People often do burnouts as they're leaving C&C in Great Falls, too, and it always pisses me off. There's a busy gas station and a farmers' market right there , and it's so unsafe. I usually stick around so I'm the last person to leave. Makes it less likely that someone's going to crash into me.

Apparently, this wasn't the first accident at this event. Burnouts have been a problem for awhile. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

It is not his responsibility to find someone to replace him and hand over the running of an event he started & runs in his spare time for free. If the free event he volunteers his time to run is more hassle & stress than it is worth, he is perfectly in his right to stop running it.

If someone else wants it to happen badly enough, they can contact him and ask to take it over, but neither you or anyone else has any right to tell him that his reason for canceling isn't good enough.

Sure it is. He's trying to put on a nice event and assholes are ruining it, causing unnecessary heat for him. To put it in business terms, the ROI is not high enough.

They should make each and every attendee watch this clip and other fail clips from C&C before allowing them in the gate...obviously unrealistic but maybe helpful?

I usually head over the the C&C in Charlotte, with the exception of missing this month's due to being back in Illinois for the weekend. This doesn't surprise me though...even at the poorly attended January C&C people were leaving like asshats.

This happens a lot in my area. One guy F's it up for everyone. When thousands and possibly millions of horspower corral into one location, someone always wants to use all of theirs.

Remember, these clowns come with the territory, so be safe because they always are there. Unless of course we host private invite meets.
