!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a great article over at Ars Technica about five automakers who have changed the auto industry. It was a shock to see Elon Musk listed in the same article as Henry Ford, but it doesn't seem all that crazy now that I think about it. We can look back and see all of Mr. Ford's achievements, but Musk's are still unfolding as I type this.
Also included are some beautiful Jags to ogle with your nighttime reading.

Where's Andre Citroen? Or Alec Issigonis?

Erhmmm... Mr. Mini was actually mentioned at the end of the article.
Finally, lists like these are never complete; for every Malcolm Sayer or Elon Musk that makes the cut, there are other notable figures whose omission you may be railing about right now. Take Alec Issigonis, for example, the designer of the original Mini, whose transverse engine and front wheel drive layout went on to become the dominant drivetrain. Or Bob Lutz, who fought the bean counters in Detroit and flies a Czech L-39 in his spare time. Did we get this list right? Take to the comments and let us know.
In the end, there can only be 5 in a list of 5.

Er, fair enough, I kinda skipped over the disclaimer at the end. I'd still put either of those guys well ahead of Mr Musk though. At this point in history, anyway - ask me again in 20 years.

I saw this as I was browsing my news feed app before I fell asleep last night.
I'm glad someone posted this. Hopefully Torch will have a critique, or an Ed will respond on the FP.
