I grew up out in Seattle. My folks had season tickets from day 1 through about 1995. During that time the Seahawks were, at best good, but mostly mediocre. There was Zorn, Kraig and Largent and a few other names who were pretty great. We also had to endure Brian Bosworth. Through all the bad years the fans were still there. The King Dome would vibrate even with a loosing records. My aunts and uncles would support the team through thick and thin. People forget that the Seahawks are more than the team of Seattle, but the team for a good part of the people in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and into Asia. More people than many would guess support the Seahawks. So, for all the fans, and the team of course, I am happy for them.

And you yourself forgot that little piece of land between Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. Even though we have a CFL team, B.C.'s closest thing to a "local" NFL team is the Seahawks. The same goes for the Mariners. Now honestly, I don't really follow sports enough for it to matter. But when I took that New York Times vocabulary quiz , it put me in either Seattle, Spokane, or Tacoma.

I've only been here in Seattle for about 4 years, but I've adopted the Hawks as my team since I got here. I know the pain of having a losing team forever (I'm originally from Detroit), but the whole 12th Man thing here in Seattle is HUGE. And it's not just a fanbase, the team embraces it. They even mentioned how huge it was to their success this year that the whole region has been rooting for them.

I'm going to head downtown on Wednesday for the parade and share in this awesome win.
