Kinja'd!!!

I wailed and wailed when my beloved B13 was thrashed, but now i am proud to announce that i just bought this beauty at the local auction. A 1999 Honda Prelude.

I had been eyeing an 06 base Mustang and a 2005 GTI, but i got outbidded on them. The Mustang was sold for 3000 and the Golf was gone for 2,800, when this came around i liked it, and got it for 2,150 i couldn't be happier. There was a fellow that wanted it too but he let go. Well, this is it. My new car, i wanted to share that with you guys. Expect to get another Jalopnik sticker on this new car.

P.S It is an Automatic, which isn't that bad considering the Houston traffic is atrocious. Also, should i mess with it?

Its not a performance machine, but that era has always been the sex.

Love it. Now get some rims and a fart can. Not to flatulent though.

I've always loved that body style. I say drive it until you have a problem, then look to upgrade the items that need it. Good score.

Thank you. Insofar the only thing should be to recharge the freon, which is out of, i don't mind it too much since i like to drive with the windows down.

Yes. I used to work with a guy who put some simple rims ( almost stock looking) to give it some style and swapped out the muffler for a lightly tuned one and added the intake.

It sounded perfect. Not a racecar by any means but just cool. I sooooo hated that guy.

I've always lusted after the generation Prelude prior to that. All because of that stupid Star Trek dash, haha.

My ac works perfect, I live in Florida, and I still ride with the windows down most of the year. I only roll the windows up if it is raining or freezing.

thanks buddy. That will do just fine. Top Gear and mas pinch recall cars from Aston Martin. They can't get the accelerator pedals fixed.

this is a pic I took from back when I worked for Lexus. 3 to 6!!!! mats these customers would leave in their cars. Toyota was cleared of fault besides the brake cancel software. Aston actually has an electrical fault. I got a copy of the official apology letter Aston sent our customers. It's funny :] They are opening a dealer in Mexico DF, should be rad.

Good call...3m's polish kit is around $18 on amazon. I picked one up and it did wonders. Definitely be patient though, it takes some time

a nice pickup! I'd say polish the headlights and leave it alone. A nice looking car, and auto is ideal for a texas commute. Can't beat that price!

Well that was the vehicle price, and I had to pony up fees, license plates, title change. All that was around the 3k ballpark.
I've been reading up on how to polish the headlights too.... toothpaste works?

I will look into it. Last time I tried to polish something It was kinda bad. I used brake fluid. Haze all over.

I've not tried toothpaste, but any old headlight goo from auto store seems to be as good as any other, and costs all of $5. But certainly no harm in trying the toothpaste first and reporting success/hilarious tooth paste encrusted pics to oppo

haha nice. Yea the 3M kit needs a few things that don't come with the kit. Namely a household power drill i believe (for the buffer pad), some automotive tape, and a squirt bottle i think. I could be forgetting things. Like I said, definitely be patient and read through the directions. Thankfully I had a friend to help me with the last two parts haha.
