Bill Nye is debating the Creation Museum Tuesday night. Can't wait.

Creationists have a museum? To what? Stupidity?

It's in Kentucky.

That...is going to be the most lopsided debate ever. It'll be like debating a small mentally handicapped child with a speech impediment.
Will it be live streamed? I need a laugh.

Yes, it will be streamed.

I seriously hope someone puts this up somewhere because I want to watch it.

So, yes.

John's pregame prediction:
The debate on circular reasoning will be circular

I'm amazed this is still something people feel we need to debate.

Where have you been? LOL.
Yes, it is absolutely horrible.
There you go, proof man and Dinosaur lived side by side.
They also went broke trying to build this theme park:

I think only Ken Ham thinks it is going to be "debate". Bill Nye already won, since Ken Ham hasn't presented a logical argument since, well, ever.

I've been busy learning science, which would explain why I haven't heard about this.

The secret to winning a debate is that you've got to debate better than your opponent.

It's too bad it's on Ken Ham's home turf. From what I've heard, he's the one who makes money off this debacle. =(

I wonder how this will go. Usually in these debates you get a lot of non-science, metaphysical silliness or ignorance thus goddidit arguments from the Creation camp, but that's hard to do here. The creation museum is a museum , so it'll have claim to side with science, even though there's no science behind their claims.

Unfortunately I have the habit of following politics. These guys have a bad habit of publishing pseudo-science in their own "science journals" making them appear peer reviewed, and then publishing text books with their work.
They then have these "Science" experts try and strike down real science text books in public schools by pointing out that the "theory of evolution" is just a theory, and the "competing theory" of creation, as advocated by Answers in Genesis has great scientific merit that wasn't in the real science book. Basically they are going through great lengths to confuse school boards and keep science out of public schools, and add creationism in.

If Bill Nye's supporters would just play this outside of the museum, I think I would die happy.

The debate is going to sound like Nye brought a Gatling machine gun to a stick fight, yet the creationists will claim victory anyway.

The irony is that American* creationists will point fingers at "lack of evidence" of evolution, yet the only "evidence" for their belief is a document written centuries before anyone cared about doing research over the origins of species, which can be and has been disputed in terms of origin and truthfulness.
*I know they're spreading over here but by now they're still mostly in the USA.

In these debates creationists usually point to perceived (usually strawman) flaws in the opposing viewpoint. But instead of coming up with a better alternative, they revert to either 'you're wrong, so goddidit' or 'goddidit, so you're wrong'. I've never really heard someone make a case for creationism in a scientific way*. Even the mild creationists from the intelligent design movement attack current scientific theory instead of substantiating their own hypothesis .
*No, this doesn't count. This is comedy.
