Sorry for the shitty pic but it was dark and you'll deal! He wants to pay me $50 to plastidip the chrome black. How hard should it be?

Easy! Just make sure to mask off the area, and make sure to get a good four coats down with drying time inbetween. Also make sure to avoid laying it down too heavy.
How's the volvo man?

depends on how well he wants it done. Do many thin coats and it'll turn out fine. Drips are pretty catastrophic, cause unlike paint you can't just sand them down.
edit: clown shoe pilot below me says you can solvent and blend the drips. Haven't tried it myself, but seems reasonable enough.

Drips are NOT catastrophic. Let the drip dry up, the use a little solvent on the tip of your finger to "re-melt" the drip and blend it into the surrounding paint. Next coat, everything will be fine.

hmm. I'd always heard it was impossibly hard to make it smooth after melting the drip down. But I haven't done it personally, so I'll take your word for it.

Super easy. A friend of mine and myself did the exact same thing on his 2000 Silverado. Make sure to mask off the areas and allow drying time in between your coats. Most importantly, don't rush it.

it's a breeze. I did my wheels a couple months ago - the first thing I'd ever dipped. I had a few drips and also a couple places where bugs landed in the fresh paint. Everything re-melted and smoothed out really nicely.
I used MEK substitute as my solvent. It might be a little aggressive, just work quickly :)

I plastidipped a whole Buick.
It's super easy. If you can do a workable job with regular spray paint, PlastiDip will be a breeze. Even mild drips go away after a couple coats on top of them. Just make sure to keep an even speed while spraying and let go/press the button while you're still moving so you don't end up holding it over one spot.

White would look badass on the back.

Walmart and home depot usually have it for the best price ~ $7 per can. I'd get at least 2 cans, probably a 3rd to be safe. When I did my spoiler I screwed it up and had to peel it and start over, so one can was a waste. Also go with one of the attachable pistol grip handles too because it makes spraying so much easier.

Friends don't let friends plastidip bumpers.

In his defense he has blacked out everything else in the truck so the chrome does kinda look silly. I mean if he's willing to buy the supplies and give me $50 I can't really say no.
