So yesterday I washed my car. It was filthy . Seriously, I felt gross every time I drove it. The before/after comparisons are astounding. See for yourself:
Seriously, it was so dirty it actually had crust
And now it looks like this
There's a saying that goes 'happy wife, happy life'. I don't have a wife, but I do have a car, and my happiness level is significantly higher when it's clean. There are few things in this world I cherish more than washing my own car to perfection (okay, near perfection)

I'm feeling like that about my car. Drove it on the beach a couple of weeks ago, it's been raining and foggy and misty and windy since then, too. My car is gross. It gives me a sad when I look at it. I think you've inspired me to at least take it down to the automatic a couple miles away. ^_^

Freshly cleaned cars just feel so much.... better. Smoother, taught-er, faster.
Yes I washed the Camry today.

If the good weather here in MD continues, then I'm gonna try washing my Focus tomorrow.
I'm concerned about how I'm going to clean little bits of tar (or whatever it is) that a work truck coughed up onto my car a couple of months ago - the bits that were on the paint came off after my dad took the car through an automatic car wash, but they're still on the rubber moldings.

Seeing Jake's pictures make me feel like an unmotivated auto slob...

Nah, just blame winter! Even in sunny, temperate Texas, the weather can turn nasty in a heartbeat during winter. I want to go wash my car, but I also know there's a cold front expected later this weekend. That means rain and gritty roads. Fuck it, I'll just get the cheap wash... It'll be enough to get most of the grime off.
Let's go! I'll race ya! We can comment here again to see who finishes first. ^_^

Goo gone? Just be careful, it can stain some stuff. I don't know how it does on rubber, but it can stain plastic.

Cool, thanks.

Your before is only a little worse than mine. Light rain and mist combined with lots of driving means everything is stuck to my car right now.

This will stay this way for .0002 seconds.

Dirty? What?
It ain't dirty if you can still tell what colour it is...

Dude. No race? I went to the carwash, got some groceries, and just welcomed some company over, lol. The wash didn't quite take care of a couple of tenacious bits of bird poop on my trunk lid, but at least the car looks better.

It's been clean for a day!

Did you see the before pictures? My car was not black anymore. And even if you could guess it was black, you couldn't tell that it's actually Black Granite Metallic, with sparkly bits.

Were there large clumps of mud with bits of local flora in them? I rest my case. I come from a land of gravel highways, muddy fields, and overgrown ox-cart tracks. I've lived in the city for five years and still laugh at what urbanites consider to be dirty cars.
'Tis but in jest. Your car in fact looks a lot nicer in clean.
