Driving shoes are a thing?

They are and converse give surprisingly good pedal feel.

Can you still find 8-tracks that work? Even in the mid-90s my roommate would have about a 75% failure rate of 8-tracks bought at thrift stores for his Volare.

I MUST GET THOSE CONVERSE.
Do you know the address of the place where I can get them?

I have about the same fail rate. You have to learn to resplice them and look for ones with good foam. After that you just have to hope they work.

Huh, never really knew pedal feel was a thing. I have a friend who swears by driving barefoot, but he's kind of an odd duck iykwim.

Barefoot is fun... but I don't like having to put on shoes when I get somewhere!

You need the soundtrack to Smokey and the Bandit.

He just kicks off his shoes, sans socks, when he gets in and puts 'em back on afterward. Like I said, an odd duck. An odd, smelly duck.
