When I first spotted this thing in Auburn Hills Mi, I assumed it must be an "M" plate or at least a movie prop (the newest Batman movie was filmed in neighboring Pontiac Mi).
The hood emblem read Terradyne Armored Vehicles and judging by it's custom plate "TONSFUN" this baby is privately owned! Who does that?

Who does that?
Someone who drives through Flint?

He must be some poor slob, mine is gold plated with diamond rims.

Someone who needs to resist gunfire for 24 hours perhaps? Le 24 Hours of LeGunfire?
On another note, what is it based on, I wonder? A Chevy Avalanche I'd guess judging from the side mirrors and bed. Maybe a Tahoe?

Those look like F-250/350 mirrors to me.

Indeed. I stand corrected! This is based on a Ford.

Although I guess they very well may have just grabbed them off a Ford truck just as easy.

It looked 100% military grade, none of that light duty crap here.

The driver did very good job of getting it in the space well.

They're based on Ford F550s I believe.

I always thought it would hilarious/terribly dark/probably a little pants shittingly terrifying to take a heavily armored vehicle (though probably one that's subtly armored) to Mexico City or South Africa or some other region that has ridiculously high instances of in-car kidnappings and just laugh if and or when someone tries to break in your door, shoot out the glass, shred your tires, etc.
But perhaps I'm just a bit twisted.

I guess the driver is taking full advantage of the low gas prices. That thing weighs about 6.5 tons

...Yeah, pretty much.
