You've just been given $50,000 to spend on a luxury car for yourself. It will be your daily driver. Here are the rules:
It can be brand new or pre-owned.
Any body style is acceptable.
You cannot go one penny over $50,000.
It cannot be over 10 years old (MY2005).
I'd have !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for $49,999. With it, you get 604 horsepower from a massive AMG V12 engine, as well as loads of space, technology, and pure luxury.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So... What would you buy in this scenario? Tell me below.

2015 Mercedes C300 sport with premium 1 and multimedia. Might even be able to squeeze in the cranberry leather interior for under 50.

$49,995. A whole lotta sexy going on all at once. Or if not that, I'd get a base Audi A6 brand new.

Hmm, fun challenge. I'd never considered spending that much before on a car. I'd almost be tempted to go for a Mercedes Benz GLA AMG. I think they are right around the $50K mark. Obvious waste of money, but it'd be fun ride.

I didn't even think about the Quattroporte. That's one good-looking car right there.

Nice choice! I like that color.

2007 VW Phaeton V10 TDi if I lived somewhere where cars were a tad cheaper.. Since I live in Norway I'll have a 2009 VW Phaeton 3,0 TDi.

Hard to argue with a new Mercedes.
![]() 12/22/2014 at 22:44 |

Yep, GLA45 AMG 4MATIC starts at $48,300.
![]() 12/22/2014 at 22:45 |

I'd probably go with a used z4. One can get a 2013 with the big motor and the fancy flappy paddle gearbox with low miles for 50k.
![]() 12/22/2014 at 22:45 |

Ah, a Phaeton. Nice choice, my friend.

Since "the Man" doesn't consider my dear beloved Prius to be a luxury vehicle (even though it has heated seats ), I'm going to have to go with a Lexus CT200h with the F-Sport package for $40k CDN. It's sporty, economical, and luxurious!
![]() 12/22/2014 at 22:47 |

Understated luxury for the win ;)

The most CTS-V with manual I can find

They are great looking cars. And that particular one doesn't have the horrible F1 transmission that goes through clutches like nobody's business.

Aside from the CLA, they're all pretty great. And even the CLA is getting a nice upgrade for 2015. Hopefully they refined the transmission a little with the update too.

Well then, sign me up!

Used CTS-V Sedan.
I like my luxury with a side of batshit insane.

2010 M5. V10, 30k miles. And have money to spare for the warranty.
![]() 12/22/2014 at 22:59 |

EDIT: Didn't see the age limit. Screw modern luxury cars; they are an excuse to burden a vehicle with needless technology. A luxury car should be a timeless, comfortable escape machine. A simple and nice place to be; not an android tablet exhibition center.
I'd buy this and restore it

Yours is a great choice, S65's are nuts. I would either go with a GLA45 or a CLK63 Black Series, depending on whether or not I felt like being practical.

M235i, 6 speed, Estoril blue, red leather, heated seats, and hk sound. 48k.

Here my choice, 2006 Aston v8 with a proper manual, the best of both worlds, sporty as hell, and luxurious as a yacht

I am unable to settle on one:
2008 Maserati Quattroporte GTS
2011 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/…
$49500. You could probably find a cheaper one and get aftermarket warranty to make the grand total within $50000. But I like the low mileage and AWD.

2006 Bentley Flying Spur

![]() 12/23/2014 at 02:28 |

Probably a brand new 328d (320d outside U.S.) xDrive that is decently optioned.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:44 |
|
Aha! It only took 2 hours and 3 minutes for someone to pick a Bentley.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:45 |
|
I'd have the Jag, since I already picked an S65.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:46 |

Although the Panamera isn't exactly a looker, it is very nice. Good choice.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:50 |

Nice find!
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:51 |

Ooh, a Flying Spur! Looks to be in good condition.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:52 |

A C63 is always a good buy.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:53 |

Somewhat sporty, economical, luxurious, and also very slow.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:54 |

Interesting idea.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:56 |
|
Another Flying Spur, eh? Excellent choice regardless, though.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:57 |
|
Nice, a low-mileage V10 M5. Good find.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 07:58 |

I'd go for the CLK63 Black Series, mostly because it isn't practical at al, and I like that.

![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:03 |

Nice choice!
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:04 |

Ah, a G-Wagen! I knew someone was going to pick one of these; it was just a matter of when.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:06 |
|
Efficient, luxurious, and somewhat sporty. It's like the Lexus CT that CB suggeted, except better in almost every single way.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:07 |
|
Smart choice to leave room in the budget for repairs.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:09 |
|
I'd go for the wagon version because it's an insane combination of cargo space, luxury, and POWEEEEEEEEEERRRRR!
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:19 |
|
bingo. now... who's gonna gimme the 50 grand?
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:23 |
|
I'd personally opt for automatic, It's a full sized luxury sedan so I'd have to pass on manual.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:43 |
|
A Luxury vehicle? I'd probably go with this if I was focusing more on luxury and less on performance. Honestly, everything I've read about it is fantastic. Great interior. The exterior looks damn good in my opinion - derivative, yes, but still good. And you get so fucking many amenities for the cost. Get the V6 with the HTRAC AWD with heated seats? Perfect DD in the winter. Along with the sunroof and ventilated seats for the summer.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 09:27 |
|
The Genesis is a good choice. If it was in-budget, I would get the V8 model, but the V6 with AWD is the next best thing.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 09:51 |
|
The biggest problem with that car in your scenario is finding one for 50k. I saw one, reserve not met, for 12.5k and one for 56k, both on eBay. It might take some patience and clever negotiating.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 11:38 |
|
That was my thinking exactly, the other car that could compete would be a Maserati Grand Turismo, just because of that ridiculously sexy exhaust note, but I'd much prefer the manual, then just get a nice new exhaust.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 12:30 |
|
The F stands for Fast!
![]() 12/23/2014 at 12:45 |
|
:O
But but but
Manuél is our lord and savior!
![]() 12/23/2014 at 12:47 |
|
I know, I know. I drive a manual transmission car daily, and I honestly would rather have an automatic DD.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 12:49 |
|
Yeah it definitely depends on the situation too. I used to live a lot farther from work so stick got harder. But now I'm so close to work that automatic is boring because my commute is brief and has no traffic.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 12:54 |
|
Yup, I'd personally have an automatic DD which would be the Quattroporte and have a manual transmission fun car. I'll still DD with manual, but if I were rich I'd DD something automatic probably.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 13:00 |

and a Manuél Ferrari 550 for Sunday cruises :)
![]() 12/23/2014 at 16:25 |

Yeah, Haha. That.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 16:27 |
|
Ever seen it in blue?
![]() 12/23/2014 at 19:11 |
|
I believe I have, Those things look amazing either way though. That's a car that should only come with manual instead of that F1 garbage.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 19:16 |
|
You're in luck! The 550 only came with Manuél! It was its successor (which looks the same other than the headlights) that had the F1 option.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 19:57 |
|
That is extremely acceptable.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 20:50 |
|
It's the BEST car to buy right now. It's modern enough to use a lot if you want to. And values have bottomed out.
We both need one SOON.
![]() 12/23/2014 at 21:16 |

I'd love one! I suggest that we force somebody to donate to us.
