GETTING OLD IS FINALLY PAYING OFF! At least, I assume that's what kicked it down since I didn't change my policy at all.
Seriously, my policy renewal is up in January, and it auto-renews and sends me a new billing schedule email: $20 LESS PER MONTH!

Lucky bastard, having low rates. 20$/month would be a drop in the bucket on my policy.

I'm 30, for the last 7 years I drove a 2008 Lancer, insurance costs ranged from 200-250 a month. No speeding tickets the last several years but there was an accident on my record about 4 years ago. Bought a new Focus ST in June and switched to Allstate. I'm paying $70 a month. I feel like I may have been getting screwed with the Lancer...

Mine went up but I bought a new car.
Yay for you though.

Yeah, no kidding on the Lancer! I can't even imagine paying that much.

How old are you and what do you drive?
I've been doing insurance on my own since 21, and it was never more than $120 a month, always on new cars.

20. Colorado Crew Cab. It's more where I drive though, Ontario is awful.

That's still ridiculous

Yeah. I'm paying 6000/yr with a huge collision deductable, no comp. That said, I do have one ticket (minor) that will be coming off before renewal. That also said, pickups are the cheapest insurance. Insurance is a fucking scam up here. Next renewal should be down a long way though (21 + basic coverage).

nice job!
With my speed 3 and Miata, I pay the princely sum of $57.67 a month. That's full coverage, I'm 27.

If I added a second car it would go down another 10 or so last I checked, and increasing the deductible would bring it down another 10 or so on top of that.
What I'm saying is if everything works out and I get a Corvette next year, my insurance will be cheap .

Makes absolutely sense! I love how I am missing out on some savings because the Miata lacks abs.

You were likely getting screwed on the Lancer because of the market segment who buys a lancer is teens-early 20 year olds who cause accidents.
