Good morning Opponauts, time for another edition of Name That Plane! I will give you three clues below. As always, the first person to correctly identify the aircraft in question will receive the satisfaction of a job well-done!
EDIT: We have a winner! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! correctly identified the Dassault-Breguet Super Étendard.
Until next time...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Let the games begin:
Clue #1: This aircraft first flew during the same month that Hank Aaron hit his 733rd home run.
Clue #2: The manufacturer of this aircraft was founded by Marcel Bloch in 1929.
Clue #3: This aircraft operated, in part, from the aircraft carrier featured at the beginning of the 1995 thriller, Crimson Tide .
Note: The aircraft in the lede image IS NOT the subject aircraft.

You are correct, but unfortunately, Sideways just barely beat you to the punch.

I've always like the names of French Fighter Jets.

I WAS LOOKING UP A PICTURE OF IT ON THE STENNIS AND MAKING SURE I COPY-PASTED THE ACCENT "E" RIGHT, GAWD
Can I get an award for "more correct"?

I feel your pain. I too, am a perfectionist. FYI, holding Alt and typing 0201 will get you the É. Also, the carrier I was referring to was the Foch.
That being said, you get a gold-star for effort.

They're definitely interesting. This one has always made me think of [spoiler alert, politically incorrect] "retard", though.

YAY.
I don't remember Crimson Tide that well, but the Stennis showed up in a bunch of Clancys around then. I found that pic and thought, "Carrier landing on a period-appropriate carrier which may or may not be the right one - GOOD ENOUGH".

Sounds like a good excuse to rewatch that Tony Scott masterpiece. The score is so good.
I do wish there was a way to time-stamp when a post is started as opposed to finished, so I could properly award those folks that put a little more time into their response.

Not just that, really - I could do with a good 80s-90s geopolitical thriller movie binge. All the Soviet villain pieces with big scores - I NEEDS THEM.
