Hey guys, this is a local guy, I even took one of the pictures of his car. Jalopnik has found cars before, maybe we can do it again. Though this will be a hard one. :/
Here is the post from the local GN shop:
- ATTENTION - APB out for our beloved "New York" STOLEN from Tacoma Wa. this week! It's a fully converted 1985 GN running the 87 powertrain flying New York License plates # GAJ-1365. Identifying features: still has the chrome 85 grill, has the Torq Thrust wheels on all the way around with the drag radial on rims in truck/back seat, lowered with coil overs, smoked tail lights, the rear bumper fillers are in cracked and in bad shape, under hood is very clean and was last seen with Fuzzy Dice hanging from the rear view mirror. If anyone spots this car please call 911. Thanks! GN Northwest

Nooooo! Did you email one of the authors? That should get it FP'd sooner.

Was it stolen in Tacoma? If so, I'm keeping an eye out.

Wow people are truly heartless scumbags. I have a DEEP love of Grand Nationals! They are what got me into turbo cars when I was a kid. My parents had a very clean 87.
I hope they get the car back and catch the guy. We need to hang him by his balls in the town square when we do.

Lets try to help out Papaw too. He also lost his Grand National. People need to stop stealing Grand Nationals and move on to a Prius / Priuses / Prii.

Hope you find it, sucks to have a project get stolen.

Hope they find the car is good shape and catch the fucker. Burn him on the cross!

Agreed, he's a good guy too, its such a shame. I got to see the car run at Turbo Thunder, it was damn quick.

Um.
Thanks for wanting him to get his car back. I think you're a little off about that punishment idea, though. Ahem.

Thanks you!!!

That's a real shame, hope you find it in one piece.

I really hope we do.

:O No! As a Grand National Obsessor I say we go full Taken on the thieves!
Talk about crimes against humanity.

Hang him in the streets???
![]() 12/18/2014 at 14:20 |

This is a GN we're talking about. I don't think the punishment is severe enough.
![]() 12/18/2014 at 14:22 |

How about punish as the law dictates.
![]() 12/18/2014 at 14:24 |

I mean to do this during the Holidays makes them an even bigger scum bag.

I walked up on someone in the process of stealing my 87 Turbo-T. Chased them off, I would have killed them with one of the tools they had if I would have caught them... No respect for other people's property these days.

Such a shame, my Turbo Regal was stolen as well. Wherever you are keep a lookout, these cars are definitely popular enough to be sold to different regions.

Ahh the unfortunate fate of my 87 Grand National. Mine was stripped within a day and I found the remnants 3 days later. I hope for the best for your friend, but chances of it coming out alive are doubtful.

This car was a wonderful example of doing it right. I absolutely love the GN's. This was one of the cars on my bedroom wall. I hope they catch the human filth that stole the car.

I'm not sure I'd be out there advocating burning crosses.
Or crucifying people.
Or burning crosses with crucified people on them.
It's ... problematic ...
![]() 12/18/2014 at 15:22 |

I am also in Tacoma I will keep an eye out. Hope it gets found.

It's more the "burning crosses" thing I was reacting too, eek

any chance it the one I saw on a ramp truck yesterday? 95 south north of boston?
![]() 12/18/2014 at 18:10 |

Probably not, It was stolen in Tacoma, WA. But it was stolen on Sunday, so there is a very very small chance it could have made it all the way over there, but not likely.

I'm in Seattle, but I'll keep an eye out.

I've seen that car in the garage of my building for the last 6 months, which is "secure" via tenant key fob openers, btw. Do you know if it was stolen from the garage? That would be a little discomforting.
![]() 12/18/2014 at 21:40 |

I do not know the full circumstances of the theft. That would be very unsettling if so.

Bella on Broadway? It was stolen from the garage.
![]() 12/19/2014 at 00:36 |

Yup. No witnesses? No cameras? I'll keep an eye out...

This is appropriate for the crime. !

Well you can't hang women by the balls. It could have been a girl that stole it.
BTW I'm not defending stealing of cars, but going for a Buick Grand National means that car fan went to the dark side, but still recognizes automotive icons to take for a drive.
