"My truck was built with wrenches, not chopsticks."
I hate "American" elitism, especially when you are Canadian.
Also the caption is racist and stupid.
Anyone else know any people like this?

Sadly yes. Luckily I threw him out of my life.

I had this person blocked on facebook, my friend just notified me of it.
Ironically he liked my post about me seeing a AE86 on the way home.

The dude almost got killed in a Focus, overheated on the highway in his F250 and he's still a Ford elitist.
Yet, he still says he hates Hondas because of that one minor airbag recall in 2005.

I know a few people who think they support Canadian economy by buying American built Dodge Rams over Canadian Built Civics. Because of the badge. One creates more jobs for Canadians than the other.

Fortunately, I haven't had to have "that" conversation about the Taco, but when I do, I can very smugly point out that it was not only built in the US, but in California. It's cool when you can see the plant where your vehicle was built... (of course, they make Tesla's there now, but that is also distinctly American)
But more to your point, the elitism bullshit is...well, bullshit...

my reply was "There is a 50% chance it was built with enchiladas actually."
He's extremely racist towards hispanics too.

If this was built by chopsticks, I'm proud to own such skilled craftsmanship myself. Imagine how hard it was to build something so unbreakable with just chopsticks.

I know a kid who drives a Corvette, yells at gays or Muslims, sideswipes any VW, Honda, BMW, Kia, etc., says "full frank of freedom" unironically, cracks terribly misogynistic jokes, and thinks the government can do no wrong.
Bizarrely, he's a 5'6 Jewish kid from Greenwich. Go figure...

Yep, he's just a "blue collah country boy", who dresses like a guido and loves 'Murica.

Chopsticks? We may occasionally eat with them, but we Texans don't normally build trucks with them.

My Car (Camry) has the 2nd most American Parts out of any vehicle.
Only beaten by the F-150.
Toyota is more American than the American companies.

"It doesn't matter that it was built here. The profits all go back to Japan."
Said multiple family members regarding my Tennessee built Xterra.

I was once cut off by a Dodge Ram out in Bum Fuck, whogivesashit USA with a sticker that had Calvin pissing on "Jap Crap." Fella literally went out of his way to pull a dumbass move on me.
I drive a Texan built Tacoma. I even checked the VIN to make sure.

That is just the worst arguement. My Friend's 26 year old borther said this to my 14 year old self when I was watching Gran Torino at their house.
Clint Eastwood remarks at his son's Toyota Sequoia and says "Buy American".
The Sequoia is built in Indiana. By Americans. In America. For Americans.

So they're implying that everyone in a country must only buy products where the revenue goes back to companies in said country? How To Can Into Economics 101.

I do. I'm good friends with a few, they're some of the most loyal people; always there for me if I need it. Sadly, they just grew up in families that didn't always have their priorities straight, and really haven't seen enough of what there is out there to be anything but a little narrow minded. (I grew up in a ninety something percent white suburb where nothing "bad" ever happens on the surface of things.)
But they don't need to be perfect people. If we keep the conversation on car repair than I can talk for hours. (and I'm a liberal)

Reminds me of a coworker I once had. He was looking for a small 4-door car to replace his 2-door Cobalt. Suggested a Civic. Told me he wouldn't ever buy anything not designed and made by Americans. He later bought a Daewoo Lacetti... Ooops I meant Chevy Cruze.

"It doesn't matter that hundreds of Americans are getting paid in machine shops, fabrication, and assembly plants. The delivery people and dealership staff don't matter either, neither do the desk jockeys in the US headquarters. What matters is that after they pay all of these people and pay upkeep for all of these buildings, what's left goes back to Japan to develop another car to be built and sold by Americans. 'Merica!"
Fixed it.

Hahaha it was most likely built in Mexico like mine. If you want an American truck, buy a Toyota.
Funny thing is, I really like my truck. Everything is put together great, and it has had no issues whatsoever so far. I hope Juan and Carlos and whoever else worked on the assembly line for it went out for Tacos & Tequila night afterwards to celebrate a job well done, in fact.

This is the ideal argument for people that can't understand math.
Toyota's profit margin last quarter was 8.22%, as an example. The other 91.88% goes into costs, including manufacturing, advertising, and R&D. Which Toyota does a lot in the US.
Plus, those pesky dealers are all American as well.
