Lets hope the sequels use some of these.

It'll be more wibbly wobbly wave a saber around without actually trying to hit them moves.
As much as I love Star Wars the saber fights are fucking retarded.

The original ones looked good, and with the lightmore from the trailer I would expect more deliberate swings.

I think it would be great if they reprise this scene with Han Solo and some light saber wielding goofball.

I will admit the original did have better fights. But the prequels were atrocious. There's a video floating around that does a breakdown of the fights showing how bad the moves were.

It'd be great if it looked like an actual sword fight and not ballet. I have hopes the movie will be good, but I expect the same shitty lightsaber fights.

This is total BS. It doesn't tell you which discipline those forms go with. Niman? Ataru? Shii-Cho? Who knows? Useless.
(Actually, there's a surprising lot of actual form stuff here . Bizarrely, its close enough to the picture in the post to make it either less funny or that much more so.)

What's weird is that the expanded universe writers and others went absolutely nuts with techniques and combat forms based somewhat on real fencing stuff. A point on which they made more sense than the movies.

I believe this would fall under "Han shot first" style.

Easily my favorite on here.

A friend of mine showed me a vintage Army hand-to-hand combat manual that he found, very similar to this in presentation, and nearly every maneuver ended with "stomp the throat". Apparently that works well.

"It's a trap!" could also be renamed, "Silvestro'd"

It's kind of hard to continue fighting after somebody stomps on your throat.

This is absolutely positively going to be the longest Christmas card my mate has ever received.
