Kinja'd!!!

[ The machine has been turned back on. Our regularly scheduled programming will resume shortly. ] The coffee machine in our office was turned off last night for maintenance on the water system.

The machine has a PIN code, which means no coffee until the receptionist arrives.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

This is exactly the question I'm asking myself. It's not like the machine is in a public place where access control is important. It's in the goddamn kitchen of the goddamn office so that we can have FREE goddamn coffee!

better than us, the person that orders our coffee was slacking. None yesterday, probably none today either. And my head is bumpin. I need some caffeine to take the edge off

I think that is a justified reason for a rebellion.

The machine has a PIN code

Holy shit, that has tyrannical as hell.

Personally I will rue the day when I need caffeine in the morning. I hope that day never comes.

Never rely on another person for your coffee. That's a recipe for disaster.

I'm trying to cut back a bit. I'm down to a double espresso before I leave the house, 2 cups in the morning, and a cup in the afternoon (but sometimes, that cup is actually a double allongé or lungo ).

That's about 2 cups less than I was drinking.

The PIN code makes sense on a commercial machine, but not in the context of the office. Perhaps it's not possible to disable the code, but they could just change it to 1111 and then put it on a fucking sticky note.

I was tempted to try 0000, 1111, 1234 but then I didn't want to put the machine into some sort of extended lockdown.

I take the metro (subway) to work. A "road trip" would entail actually walking somewhere...

I do the ordering for my office (600ish people) and it gets done once a week, never ran out... except when we think someone took a box of the stuff home... wtf?
