I was working on a post in Draft format this morning. I finally hit publish a few minutes ago and couldn't find it in Oppo... but it was published!
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
So I went digging a bit... and there it was 1-1/2 pages down the list, from 9:25 this morning when I started working on the draft. What's up with that?!!? I hit Publish at 11:something (EST) but it was published as of it's 'creation time' at 9:25AM (EST). ???

it is kinja weirdness, it's "post time" is when you saved the post as a draft

That's how Kinja works. You can schedule the time of your posts by clicking the little clock icon near the "Publish" button.
EDIT: When you compose a post, its scheduled time of publication is when you first start composing your post. Thus, when you're ready to publish, just adjust/set the time of publication to your desired time.

Uhhh, okay, that's weird. Anything in "Drafts" shouldn't have a publication time! I guess the only way out after I've made the mistake is to just 'repost'?

thanks. So now do I just have to 'repost'?

Oh nice, that explains a lot. I got authorship a while back but have only posted twice, and the first time I did this happened and nobody saw it and I was confused. Now all is clear!

Yep, you can "repost" by simply going to your original post, click "Edit", and then adjust the publication time. This way, you don't have to make another post linking your original post, Kinja will just move your original post up a few pages.

Did someone say B-body?

You can just edit the time of your post to right now and it will move to the top.

They *had* seemingly fixed that issue (start composing = time of post) but I think it's back. I noticed that as well.

Woah, crazy! It worked! Thanks.

Kinja has to timestamp your posts once they are created, if you do not timestamp it yourself, it uses the current time. Once you create the post as a draft, it has to have a time associated with it. If you want to only view your posts which are still drafts you can use the private drafts page (yours would be: http://deekster_caddy.kinja.com/private/drafts ).

Yeah, I had a meeting so I saved it there and came back to finish it later... and then when I did publish it it was way down in the list. Fixed, though. Someone above mentioned that I could edit and adjust the post time.

Yeah, I regularly schedule posts using the time stamp tool. It's how all of my "songs everyone should know" posts over on Backtalk are always posted at 9:30 PM ET. If you don't use the feature regularly, then it is a bit odd. Also, it changed subtly when they switched to the new editor.

Don't use that technique to bump your post or the mods might smite thee.

Hah, OK noted!

Oppositelock started following me. Does that mean I have authorship? If not, how do I get authorship? Is there an actual ship involved?

I'm pretty sure that if Oppo is following you then yes, you can post.
