Went out to my car this morning and the mechanism on the drivers door froze so that it out not latch. Usually I just wiggle the latch and everything starts working. After 15 minutes of messing around with it I got fed up and punched the dash. This cracked the dash and knocked the stone I have hanging from the mirror into the wind shield with enough force to crack the window.
I ended up spending about an hour taking my door apart and warming up the mechanism with a hair dryer and soaking it in PB blaster. It works again and I was was able to fix something that has been annoying me for awhile. A panel had fallen out of the door card. A drill and a couple zip ties and we are back in business.

I hate it when I break shit because I'm angry. It happens too much. At least your door is fixed...

Yeah, I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

what in the fuck? we had 11F on wakeup in the port city this morning.
My door actuators were sticky this am too, but I got in and the latch worked. My 850R wagon used to not latch. I would have to hold the door closed and drive till the heat hit it enough to latch (5 min up the road)

haha that sux. its such a dumb feeling when that shit happens. I punched a wall and my fist went right thru the horse hair plaster. its just another thing to add to my already ridiculous to-do list. I guess its a good reminder to not punch shit that can break (which doesn;t mean punch harder things cuz that doesn;t go well either)

It was 6f on Beech Ridge this morning.

I find fridges are good things to punch when angry. Forgiving enough not to break your hand and tough enough not to break from your hand.

It doesn't look like we'll get much but there is ice everywhere so that shouldn't help things.

Where do you live and what kind of car do you have?
p.s. never have a rock inside your car. If you crash/Orlove, you'll have a nice heavy stone object tumbling around with you inside.

Ugh. What happens to me is usually "something will not go" either screw in or out or whatever, and I force it and break the screw. Genius I am.

My door lock took some convincing this morning too. Luckily My locks arent in good shape, I opened my door the other day with the key to SpecialBuick62's Ranger. I locked my keys in the ignition. Actually I left the keys in the igintion when I popped the hood and my friend locked the door when he closed it out of reflex. So It technically wasnt my fault

Maine. Ford Taurus.
It's just a little stone on string like a necklace.

Yeah then you're already mad and you've just broken something. Bad times.

Once in a while it doesn't matter. And then there was the time I broke the screw in the cedarwood antique cabinet that my then fiancee had bought. That was not a good time. I was never able to extract it, even using a fancy screw extractor piece and everything.

Huh, thats weird. Wait, why do you keep a rock hanging from your rear view?

Breaking a windshield from the inside out with an umbrella might be dumber. I've seen that. "Hurr hurr button hurr" -> SPROING-CRASH

Because it's pretty and my dad gave it to me.

Those extractors are bogus.

Yeah that'd make me feel pretty stupid.

Yeah it's like the size of a silver dollar. Only thicker and rockier.

You have to drill perfectly straight to use it. Which I was not able to do.

After a not-very-good date, many many moons ago, I punched the inside of the windshield on my K-car while driving down the highway. Left a huge spiderweb crack the size of a dinner plate right in front of my face. I had to replace the windshield.
They're not meant to absorb outward-moving impacts, apparently...

I was surprised that I cracked mine. I'm guessing it being 6F out helped.
