I apologize for the formatting. I was in bed watching Netflix when I saw the news alert. If someone could resize header to the right width I'd be your Kinja-bae forever.

Holy shit. If this was caused by rioters, they may have opened a whole 'nother ball of fish (Metaphors are not my strong suit). When there's fire damage over a certain dollar amount (I want to say $2MM, but I can't rightly remember), the ATF gets involved.

Thanks! I grabbed a screen shot earlier, reminder to post.

Huh, looking at the photo of the highway (I5?) being blocked by a wall of fire it does suggest that this is intentional so...

Wow, that's a massive fire. Glad to hear no one has been hurt so far. Hopefully they can get it under control before the Monday morning traffic sets in, that's going to be a headache and a half for people who live there.

Weird that a fire can escalate into that level in such place. I think that fire department wouldn't have any trouble reaching the place very quickly. I also think that a fire just besides a big freeway would be immediately reported in any time of night.

This actually looks like a scene out of that horrible Tommy Lee Jones flick, with the volcano in downtown L.A.

Actually, I think it's ATF, based on this: http://articles.latimes.com/1996-05-13/new…

I saw that it was a apartment building that was under construction. Good news, as it wasn't filled with sleeping people.
Probably didn't have the suppression system in it yet.
