So, in honor of a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! being revealed today, I thought we should revisit an old topic. If given the choice, which of the ultimate Ferraris would you choose and why?
(The 288 GTO, F40, F50, and Enzo group photos are all the work of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .)

Gonna have to go with this, even though I dislike the sound of turbos immensely.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:21 |

288 because it looks the most like a 308 and because Group B.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:22 |

F40. F50's too ugly, Enzo's not manual, and 288 GTO's not special enough.

LaFerrari. I love the older cars, but progress is progress. Plus I think it looks phenomenal.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:24 |

F40 is the correct answer here.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:25 |

288... because you didn't include the 250 GTO and at least I get the spiritual successor... also, that engine...
Alternate answer: because I'm old enough to have lusted over them when I was younger.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:27 |
|
F40, because it straddles the line between cool and over the top.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:27 |
|
I dig on the F50...sue me.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:29 |
|
I did consider adding the 250 GTO and 275 GTB/C.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:29 |
|
That engine is a masterpiece.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:31 |

288 GTO because my passion for rally influences me over V12s for some reason.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:32 |
|
And the LaFerrari's just stupid.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:32 |
|
That would have been a very very difficult decision... of course, you could have made all of us have meltdowns and included the 599 GTO...

True.

The 250 GTO

I still don't like those headlights.

Despite my love for the F40 I chose the LaFerrari since I could feasibly use it much more often as a DD. My real answer of what ferrari I would choose though would be a 250 Testarossa or an F12 with a 6 speed manual

There can only be one great Ferrari and that is and always will be the Enzo. Heck they named it after the man himself. To me this will always be the holy grail of Ferraris.

Contrary to most people, I actually really like the styling of the Enzo. In person, it has a terrific presence about it.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:51 |

I find them acceptable. They look less sad than the originals, which I didn't mind either.
Though I much prefer round headlights, sort of like the LM.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 14:52 |
|
I prefer the round ones as well.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 15:06 |

This is the first(and only) Enzo I have ever seen in person. I needed a change of shorts shortly after. 850hp twin turbo Enzo doing high speed runs at an airfield is the best kind of Enzo. Although I would want mine 100% stock.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is most powerful Ferrari with a manual. Some here would argue that would make it the ultimate Ferrari.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 15:22 |

I don't honestly like any of them. But if I had to pick I'd go with the 288. I can't stand the over the top bodywork of any Ferrari design in the last 25 years.

A Kahn Design 599 GTB?

What are some of your favorite cars?
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:19 |

Could I "just" have the FF?
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:23 |
|
No. You must have a supercar.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:25 |
|
TIL the Ferrari FF isn't a supercar?
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:29 |
|
Yes. It is a luxury four door sedan.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:39 |
|
I would argue that it is a supercar, just not a sportscar.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:43 |
|
I guess it all depends on your definition of a "supercar."
![]() 12/03/2014 at 16:53 |
|
It's got pretty much identical stats to the 599, and that is definitely a supercar.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 17:18 |
|
My favorites are all over the map.
If we're talking Ferrari's, I'd have to go with 365 GTB/4, Testarossa and 275 GTB.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 17:55 |
|
Well, that is a flawed argument. The Panamera Turbo and 911 Turbo both make 520 hp but I don't view them as both sportscars.
Also, the 599 is a GT car. Therefore, it can't be a supercar in my opinion.

Good choices.

F50 because it's different
![]() 12/03/2014 at 20:52 |

Terrific photo.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 21:42 |
|
For me a supercar is all about performance, not just whether it follows a formula.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 21:47 |
|
I can accept that. As I mentioned earlier, everyone has their own definition of what a "supercar" is.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 22:40 |
|
For the record I chose the F40, it seems more pure.
![]() 12/03/2014 at 22:41 |
|
Very good choice. It seems to be the one favored by most people based off of the poll results so far.
![]() 12/05/2014 at 14:59 |

Ferrari F40 1 off in blue, because I secretly find red Ferrari's boring. F40 because there will never be another car that captures my childhood passion and bare-bones aesthetic again.
![]() 12/05/2014 at 15:01 |
|
Very nice choice.

I really can't think of a better way to spend that money. I mean one could have a LOT more cars, yes.
I think the dream garage needs to be kept to 3-4 vehicles only (aside from grocery getting kid haulers) to make sure you can devote adequate attention to maintaining, enjoying and driving the car.

My thoughts exactly. In fact, Brian made a similar statement today.
