So we have this at the shop until Thursday. It's in for a leather installation. I really like the hips on it, and the Coyote sounds like it's out for blood.

The rear looks better in person than in pictures, too.

might be a base car. the only way to opt for leather is to get the Premium trim which is $4000 more. so this could be a cheaper option.

My guess is the owner either 1) didn't want the other package stuff required to get leather or 2) hates Ford's suck-ass factory leather. Aftermarket leather is so, so much better than stock (albeit less durable). Or the guy just wanted a cool interior color.

What Saracen said. Our supplier is also the supplier for Roush's leather interior packages. An extra $1200 (after dealer markup) for black leather versus another $4000 for premium makes a lot of sense for someone who doesn't want the extra.

Yep, my Ford guy always recommends that as an option. He's happy to install some leather seats if the buyer isn't up for paying for the Premium package from Ford.

Some people don't wanna pay the $4k more just to have the premium trim, and an additional $200 or so for the premium interior option when you can have someone install or add leather to their seats for less I suppose; especially if they don't want the extra tech that comes in the upper trim level.

Our guys cut or otherwise remove the cloth from the foam and then put leather covers on the seats. It's a base GT. Looks like the only option it has is the automatic because the sticker says "$34,xxx." The cloth seats are nice but our leather is better quality than most of Ford's factory leather.
