I've just woken up from what could easily be described as a "self-induced coma" after three hour migraine attack. I hate migraines, and I hate how there's no cure for them.
It began just as I was getting off work, walking out the door in fact. I had to drop off a package at USPS when my vision started getting blurred and I couldn't see straight. I quickly walked back in and told my co-worker to take the package instead and I hoped in my car and tried to speed home; an agonizing 10 minutes of blurred vision and nausea.
The pain could only be described by this picture:
I finally get home, run upstairs, and collapse onto my bed at 3pm, and just woke up about 15 minutes ago like "where the fuck am I?", and my first thought was, "lets see what's happening on Oppo".
Yeah.

They're caused by stress, age, and weather, from what I've learned. So you may grow out of them (I appear to have mostly done that), at the very least.

I started getting them in 5th grade and have had them randomly and infrequently ever since. It was a pretty good day outside today and I wasn't stressed out. :(

I got them starting in eighth grade and had them pretty severely for years, to the point of missing a few classes a month to them. They do have medications to help them (I went from having one a week to one a month), but like I said, you could just grow out of them. I'm only getting them once every three months or so now.
Also, never drive when having a migraine. I know what it's like, and it's fucking terrifying.

I had to drive home, my medicine that does absolutely nothing was there. I have missed classes and work because of them.

See, I said that I had to drive home, which then engaged the most terrifying drive of my life. Having difficulty seeing in a rainstorm is a bitch and a half. Next time, maybe see if you can find a spot to sleep at work, or get a coworker to drive you home?

Fortunately the job is only 2 miles away from my house and I only need to follow a road ive been driving on since i was 3.
Unfortunately, its a very small retail shop and theres lights and noises everywhere. There was only two people there when i had to go and being black friday weekend.... -_-

My Mom's migraines are often triggered by foods, with the biggest trigger being peanuts. You might try experimenting with keeping different foods out of your diet, but it seems that yours are sporadic enough that you may not be able to tell the difference if you do.
In any case, the wheels on that first Porsche look stupid as hell on it, even if they are RUF.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you're feeling better.

Hope you feel better. Here's some Porsches I've taken pictures of!
I really love the blue and tan 911's.

Thank you very much; you've been very kind to me these past few weeks, and I appreciate it very much. :-)
I'll be responding to your last Mustang comment shortly.

You're welcome. We all go through tough times and it helps to have people to talk to.
Alright.

I sympathize; I've had migraines for years, and they've gotten better with Topamax and avoiding food triggers, but I can't do anything about the weather. Also, if your current triptan/whatever doesn't work, see if you can get your doctor to let you try another one. Imitrex was effing useless, but Relpax works brilliantly for me, and there are several others in that class of drugs, so it might just be a matter of finding the one that works for you.

I've been using Imitrex/sumatriptan in the nasal spray form for years, and once it accidentally goes down your throat, you wish that the migraine was the last bad thing on your mind; the taste only adds to the nausea, but that's a different story., but it only seemed effective when I was younger, as I got older, it seemed less effective, I actually switched to a higher dosage in pill form and it seems very slightly more effective but not as good as either would have been as a kid.
I guess I'll have to try another. :(
Are there any other methods without the use of drugs? Natural remedies or anything?

About the only other things I've found that help are going to a chiropractor for my neck, and ice packs when the headaches are really bad. I know people who swear by acupuncture, though, so that might be worth a shot.

For your neck? Interesting, could it be a neck issue related to the pain?
I used to use ice packs, I could never keep them on long enough to subdue the pain. Nowadays, I take extremely hot showers , and since it covers the entire body, my whole body feels normal, as if there's no migraine going on; the only flaw, is that I can't be in a shower for 2 hours, let alone one haha.
Perhaps acupuncture could help, but I'm not one to have needles stuck into their body. I don't like getting shots at all, so there'd be quite a struggle to stay calm with multiple needles..

I heard mushrooms (the illegal kind that get you high) can cure migraines

Oh rly.

google it. Some interesting stuff
My ex gf got migraines all the time. I was trying to find her mushrooms. But it was hard. Much harder to get than pot. And then we broke up. So she never tried them

Umm I don't think it'd work for me. Also because mushrooms and Detroit sounds like a death trap. Ima Google it in the morning after goods night sleep.
It is a neurological thing, so there must be some interesting stuff to this.

the science behind it is pretty interesting

Magnesium supplements. ALso potassium. Potassium is best gotten in banana form so eat a banana daily. Then take a magnesium supplement to ward off regular migraines if you have them. On the upside - magnesium supplements make you 1/100000th porsche. Therefore, take your Porsche supplements.

Nah, I've had migraines since before my neck started bugging me, I just get them more often when it's acting up.
I did acupuncture once for my lower back, and you don't even feel the needles because they're super thin - it's not at all like getting a shot, which I hate too.

But must be expensive, that acupuncture.

Insurance covered it at the same level as chiro, so 10% copay.

Well then, I might have to look into it in the future. Did you notice any changes or lessening of migraines as a result?
