Today I visited my local VW dealership to have my winter tires installed and was able to spend some time sitting in a 3 door Autobahn variant. Man, do I want one now! The 3 door version means cloth seats and no nav, which is just the way I'd option it.
I asked about the Performance Package and learned that it's another trim level, on top of the features the Autobahn includes. So you get things like sunroof, LED fog lights and driver modes plus the PP's trick diff, bigger brakes and performance summer tires right off the bat. Looks like in Canada you can also order one right now for February or March delivery.
I also learned that the plug-and-play subwoofer system does not require you to lose the spare tire. Going to add that option now!

What will this cost? Seems like it's approaching a price where you might as well buy a Golf R.
