I'm having wiper blade issues on my 03 Odyssey. Recently, I replaced the blade assemblies, not just the blades, with a set of Goodyear blades from Costco. Driving in the rain on this trip east, they weren't working. They wipe well on the way up, but streak terribly on the way down. Both sides. And they skip a section in the middle of the windshield entirely. So I stopped in Marion, VA to buy a new set, this time Duralast. Swapped them out, and am having the exact same problem with the new, different brand set. Short of buying Honda OEM blades, does anybody have any ideas?

Wipers go, wipers go down. You can't explain that.

I ahve no ideas, but the same problem on the wife's Rav4, I shall be interested to hear from the pros on how to resolve

Worn/bent arms? Check the spring pressure of the arms.... or try gently bending the arms so there's MORE pressure of the blades on the windshield.

I've had this issue on older cars. It's always been on the drivers side too. I assume because it's generally the longer blade. My best guess is the spring that holds tension on the wiper arm is wearing out and not putting enough pressure down. It's a complete guess though.

I had t0 stop buying cheap wiper blades. I buy only Bosch now and have no problems with streaky or squeaky blades.

not enough pressure down by your wiper arms. I've had that happen due to corrosion build up in the wiper arm hinge. I hit it with some PB blaster to eat up the corrosion, and worked it back and forth, then put some oil on the hinge.

I'll probably be the only person on Oppo to answer this for you, so here goes.
I used to work at Trico as a lab tech, testing everything from blades to motors to arms. Few things that could be your issue causing the "drawback". If the attack angle of the attachment point from the arm to blade is wrong, this will happen. Basically, the blade is on so much of an angle that it never actually reverses and hence pulls the water back. Grab 2 crecent wrenchs and use them to twist the end of the arm to a better angle (use one to keep the the main part of the arm steady, other to twist the head). You want the angle to change as the blade goes from one side to the other, that way the blade will flip over. If you have old arms they could be tweaked and causing this issue.
The other problem you might have (again with old arms) is the spring may not be providing enough force on the windshield. Gonna need new arms if that is the case, as you can't just buy a new spring.
If I were you, I'd mess around with the angle the head of the arm hits the windshield first. Good luck!

Spring was my thought as well.

hahaha, You may think the bosch blades are good, but they really aren't. Bosch aftermarket blades tend to be really hit or miss for people. Only the OEM Bosch blades are really good. The aftermarket ones are no better than anco or other brands. Trust me.

Excellent answer, and would explain why two different brands of blades would behave the same way. I'm on the road, and only have a rudimentary set of tools. But I'll see what I can do. Thanks.

No problem. Here is a really bad MSPaint of what I mean with the wrenchs.
Don't laugh too hard.....lol

Silly question, but have you tried washing the screen by hand with soap and water? Do the blades as well while you're there. It's possible there's just something sticky getting in the way,
Otherwise, as Stndlbnz said, it's probably the angle of attack.

Not laughing at all. I went outside and run the wipers. They are flipping over on return, but it looks like they might be over flipping, almost lying flat.

They may work fine for you, I'm just giving some insight, as I have some inside knowledge into Bosch wiper blades. Didn't mean to come off as a dick.
