I've made a tough decision for the Christmas holiday; I decided that I'll stay behind, and work during the holidays, whichever job I get, and "waste" a $1400 ticket for a round trip for a 10 hour flight. My grandmother would prefer it this way, if visiting her would hinder my career. I already did a family trip to Portugal back in September, and I don't need more vacation time. For the trip in question, follow the tag to my previous posts.
Have a Beetle, because those are common on Brazilian roads.

That's a whole lot of cash money. The only way I'm paying such a huge airfare is if I'm staying put for like a month. Airfare is off the chain again. Thanks, Obama free market economy.

1400 bucks?
That's over half a Montego!

Just go to Brazil, get some ass (just wrap it up!) and enjoy a little mini vacation then when you get back get back on the job hunt.
Plus you already "lost" your job because of this trip anyway, no point in not going.

The term 'free market' actually means that the established corporate giants and monopolies are allowed to freely do business as they see fit without the threat from alternatives.
And you can mostly thank the Republicans for that.
I hate politics. Fuck the system.
Not trying to criticize, only provide commentary. Carry on...

Enjoy time with your family while you can. You have your whole life to work. You never know when one of them will leave this earth forever.

The whole country is based on commodifying every last item and action to the point where our happiness lives or dies based on the affordability of whatever. We get more of a thrill out of buying something on sale than we do about actually obtaining that thing. Craigslist is full of shit that people don't need but then want to sell for retail prices because otherwise you're trying to cheat them—who cares how much it's actually worth, or worth to them. When everything we do has a price tag attached to it, we've become a microeconomic society, and when social welfare has a negative connotation because it's related to the word "socialism," then we're f'ing screwed I suppose.

It is a lot. I am aware of this, the worst part was the trip was booked without my consent, and I only found out after I started working.

I know I have my whole life to work, My family is getting on my nerves as of recently, I need a bit of a break from living 24/7 with them. I need to get my career started (again), and I'm willing to make sacrifices.

I know, it's crazy. This trip was booked without my consent, because I have an overbearing mother who assumes I'm going to everything she's booking.

I know, but I already did a major family trip less than 3 months ago, I had the plan to start working once I returned from that one, I'm not in the mood to lay back now.
