There's a reason the truck looks so sketchy.

I should get a $500 car for this job. Since the Jetta is not "mine".

indeed. a cheap, mechanically sound beater seems like the best car for the job, unless I am given a company car.

It's not hard on your car. I did it for 1.5 years. The money you make depends on what chain you're working at and what part of the city your in.

I did it in a pretty nice part of town and it wasn't bad on my old WRX. You get paid fairly generously to drive around. I thought it was a blast. Granted, you put miles on quickly.

Note this is for a major national pizza chain in a suburban location. Now, I'd prefer a dealership job, but it seems like the Service manager for the local Ford dealership got too busy for my calls recently. I'll try again monday.

You get paid to drive a lot. At night usually. And you kinda gotta go fast.

I can neither confirm nor deny that my 240z will be wearing a pizza fin this summer...

Excuse me, I speak Gif.

What he's saying is "I have examined your statement, and I must urge you with all sincerity to abandon your current course, as it is potentially quite unpleasant"

What chain was it? Getting paid to drive around would be fantastic. Even better is that you get to charm the hell out of people with your genuine smile and peppy ADHD-induced attitude for tips.

It's like whoring, but with less STDs (usually).

Did you get compensated appropriately for gas?

I worked for Pizza Hut in Goddard. They paid $1.25 per delivery, which way more than covered my gas.

Everyone was really friendly in the area, so as long as I was friendly back, I'd be tipped pretty OK. Some people do, some people don't. You will be working weekended and evenings. Those are the best earning nights.

Overall it was a pretty OK job, there's still some bad parts. It's actually better paid than my job now, granted I claimed about 2% of my tips so nothing was taxed. I also stole at least $1000+ dollars worth of free pizza/wings/breadsticks, so that's a bonus.

It's great for anyone 20-younger. But once I got to about junior year college, I needed something that looks better on a resume with real-world experience related to my major.

I've got nothing bad to say about the job. Saved up pizza delivery money funded my first flip and started the biz I have now. I have to pay for my own pizzas now, but I do have my nights and weekends back.

As someone with no social life and thus free nights and weekends: When can I start? :P

My dad is leery of the idea of me putting so many miles on the car, but $1.25 per delivery for gas is pretty damn good. I heard through the grapevine it was $1.25 per *gallon* though, so what I heard might have gotten a couple wires crossed.

I delivered pizza in high school, and for Jimmy Johns in college. Its an excellent young person/ during school job. The money is good, and my vehicles never suffered from it. The mileage you put on isn't very significant.

Just don't become the old guy who's still delivering pizza. Those guys are sad.

Maybe it's changed since I left, but I know that was the rate during my time.

Just look up on their website to see which locations need drivers. The one by me had a sign out looking for drivers, but that's over by where Cars & Coffee was last week.
