My son has taken an interest in slot cars. We got him a SCX 1:43 set two years ago for Christmas and we have dug that out. Do any of you know of good vendors to look at aside from Amazon and Ebay? Thanks

Lucky Britons. Slot car selection in the US is absolute ass and if you want Scalextric you're going to pay through the nose.

Been wondering that too. When we buy a bigger house I want a huge setup in my man cave.

SCX Compact - the 1:43 scale - is thin on the ground in retailers in the States. They were big several years back. Even Target sold them. When Target started clearancing them out, I bought a ton of it. I now have five sets.
The good thing is Carrera GO! is also 1:43 scale and the cars mostly work on the SCX track. My local hobby store - Hub Hobby - carries Carrera GO! track, sets, and cars.
Slot Car Illustrated has a great forum with a pretty active 1:43 area: http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal/forums/
