So it seems my neighbors and co-workers are a bit worried about the coming snow. My county is suppose to get 5.5" and....ok? [pic for looking]
I should probably care/be worried more, but it seriously feels like another notch in the belt. Last winter, the first winter I have driven in MI for over 4 yrs (4 yrs spent in FL might I add) I have had; two accidents (one with loose snow the other with black ice), a car overhearing mid trip, the engine of my car not starting (cuz of cold weather), the hood of the car getting frozen shut, the cord for the hood release snapping, two flat tires....eh I've been through a lot. I should mention I travel 40 miles one-way for work. That's about 400 miles a week.
I mean, should I be afraid? I honestly don't see a reason to be. It's Michigan, bad weather should be expected. I'm not gonna say I'm an expert in driving on the snow, but I do have my feet wet.
Though I'm gonna laugh because, as always, I'm going to be driving to work tomorrow, and the guy(s) that are 10 minutes away probably won't come in because the snow is too 'deep'.
I will say, I'm not looking forward to shoveling my new driveway.

Ugh, clearing snow from a gravel drive/walk sucks. Pavers suck, too, but gravel's the worst. Stay warm. Failing that, stay home and stay drunk. ;)

I cannot fucking wait. I'm sick of looking outside to it being cold and snowing but not actually sticking.
Scraping your car off but not being able to drift is literally the worst thing ever.

Yep, I discovered at our previous residence that shoveling a dirt driveway only gets you so far.
We got a propane furnace, gaslog fireplace, and if needed, a wood-burner stove. I even split some extra wood last Saturday, even with a torn muscle in my left arm' Dang did it hurt after, but we got the wood just in case, :).

vote you don't bother with the shoveling of the driveway...

I know what you mean. For my return trip home, I go a longer way via diet roads, just to end my work day with some fun. The snow is gonna make it even more enjoyable!

My Cherokee is ready for the snow and the snowblower is too. Though I don't imagine we will get that much tonight/tomorrow in Metro Detroit area.

Oh that's too good.
The only things here that resemble my car is that it's blue, and I have massive dirt/mud stains across the sides of my car as well. It's a battle I haven't even bothered to fight, lol.

Just e-brake drift!

Man, you are prepared. I just bought this house, so I'm still getting the things that I need. It's just another year under the belt driving through a polar vortex in a pt cruiser. Crazy or manly? I still can't decided. Lol.

You'll be fine, my old winter car was a Stratus and it worked out well. Though the XJ is a lot more fun. Put away the summer toys this weekend for good :-( so bring on the snow!

Oh I know I will be, :). The area where I live is poorly plowed. I figured if I can make it in my pt cruiser, what else is there to conquer?
As a golden rule, if I can get from my house to the first paved road (about a mile), it was [usually] smooth sailing for the rest of the trip. Except if there's black ice, but you can never account for black ice so it doesn't count!

So, how much snow did you really get? I got like nothing. Though I did hear 1-3 inches today.....so we will see.

Ha, we got like 2 inches, which is disappointing. I was hoping for a challenge with my commute.
