I actually really like linear. Then again I'm a math major...
If you find the material difficult or skipped more than a few classes like I might have, there is always youtube videos. PatrickJMT has some good ones on pretty much everything that seem to be the standard

My professor for the majority of my math classes was Russian... and learned English in Quebec...
