Is this still in the works? I might be coming across a 360 around Christmas and would love to do this if it happens. So let me know if it happens or not.

You can play Fourza on a Ferrari? Interesting feature.

It's a Pimp My Ride exclusive. It's in the Frunk.

Oh we're definitely doing it, I actually finished the draft of the rules last night. Schedule as far as time and day TBD but the order in which we race those tracks will be the same and all other information is complete. I'm just waiting to post it after this series ends and getting feedback from people who want to participate. http://svtyler.kinja.com/the-opposite-l…
EDIT: ANYONE READING THIS PLEASE DON'T COMMENT ON THAT POST YET

El Camino not a car... C'mon man

Hey don't blame me, I just do what Wikipedia tells me.

LIES! It is a car and a truck.

HOW DARE YOU BLASPHEME AGAINST THE GREAT WIKIPEDIA, SAVIOR OF HIGH SCHOOLERS AND COLLEGE ACADEMICS ALIKE.
I mean we can talk about it closer to the start of the season, I was just kinda hoping to keep the 'Trans-Am' vibe going instead of the 'every possible 60's/70's American car with a big engine' kinda thing, mostly because Trans-Am will be easier to type on the race posts. A lot of stuff's TBD at this point.

It's no big I guess. I'll figure something else out then.
![]() 11/15/2014 at 18:20 |

Not entirely sure that time would work but I'll see how things go.
![]() 11/15/2014 at 18:27 |

Time can always be changed. Saturday's probably going to be a given (since a lot of us are in college and do HW on Sundays) and 4pm was chosen because TheVancen and I have to work at 6 so anytime before that would be fine. Like I said, something we'll sort out closer to the start of the series.

I can test the El Camino later tonight and see how it does and run it by Wrath if it seems OK. Even if not you GM fanboys are spoiled for choice as far as car selection goes.

How do I get in on this? Do you guys have a club on Fourza?

and they only scratched the surface of GM choices let alone other brands.

Alright, I'll try to make this work if I get the console.

same since I think I was the one who came up with the idea a while back.

Props to you then, I'm really digging the idea. Hopefully it doesn't end up being too complicated.

hopefully not sounds like a brilliant series

I'll send you a club invite, what's your GT? Trans-Am series won't start until our GT season ends after Christmas; tentative schedule is every other Saturday at 4pm EST starting Jan. 3rd and continuing into June.
![]() 11/15/2014 at 23:10 |

GT is MrFourSpeed. Saturday's is doable, I don't work weekends. Thanks, I'm looking forward to the T/A series.
![]() 11/15/2014 at 23:22 |

Glad to have you. Problem is I can't seem to send you an invite, says "user could not be found. They need to play Forza 4 before you can send them an invite."
![]() 11/15/2014 at 23:27 |

I think I know the issue. I just changed my name from MrFiveSpeed and hadn't played since the change. Just logged in now, so hopefully it should work.

There we go, invite sent. Welcome to the club.

Sweet, thanks. Just built myself a Jim Hall Chaparral Camaro. Gonna be a fun series.

No problem, glad to have another member. I'm really looking forward to it as well; there should be a lot of crazy close racing with the way the rules are set up. I love the '70 Camaro but I'm going with this Mustang:
I have a thing for purple cars and I'm not sure why.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 00:27 |
|
Purple is a highly underrated color in general. I'm sure I'll wind up building a bunch of cars before I decide what I'm using. Naturally I was bummed about the no-Corvairs rule, so I built one anyway...you need to go to a V8 to get over 506PI, and then it's really just too much motor for the car.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 01:00 |
|
Even with the V8 swap I don't think the Corvair would be competitive anyway: it was 2 seconds to 60 slower and 10mph down on the other cars, and was by far the slowest around Mugello (where I tested all of them). That being said all the eligible cars are within about a second of each other so it's really just personal preference which one you want to use.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 09:27 |
|
I'm not surprised. If the others are within a second, then that's pretty damn good.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 15:32 |
|
Any chance of an under 2-liter class? or do you think the grid is going to be too small to handle 2 classes?
![]() 11/16/2014 at 17:28 |
|
I think we're just going to run the above 3-liter class for simplicity's sake; the rules are already pretty complicated as-is and car choice is better and more uniform. Undoubtedly we'll have a few people drop out and new people join and I don't want to force anyone into different classes than they want to race in just to keep parity within the classes.
![]() 11/17/2014 at 03:23 |
|
I was actually surprised how close they all were, makes our job as far as BoP adjustments a little bit easier. Definitely more parity among the eligible cars than our GT series, that's for sure.
![]() 11/17/2014 at 14:01 |
|
I put some thought into this, you could probably run U2 with the same rules being used for the V8 class, would just need to work out a New PI cap, and score them separately after the race is over, or run it as a shorter warm up race before we run the big cars. Or the obvious i feel we're going to run with: don't bother.
![]() 11/17/2014 at 16:24 |
|
That could totally work if we do separate races (that way we wouldn't have to do timed races instead of lap numbers and I feel like if we ran both classes more people would race the 3-liter+ cars than the U2's anyways), maybe in the between Saturdays of the 3-liter+ points races? I'll run it by the rest of the brain-trust this Sunday after the GT race and let you know what they think. It's a cool idea, we just need to figure out how to implement it without it turning into a cluster (see the Fourza Le Mans races last June where I ran three spreadsheets and four continuous posts for the two races and damn near lost my mind).
![]() 11/17/2014 at 21:28 |
|
I like the theory of running them both at the same time, but it seems like having the much slower cars on the track at the same time as the big cars will result in timing issues and probably a few annoying lap traffic induced incidents. A separate race night for U2s sounds good though. Makes everything simpler and opens up the possibility of guys running in both classes if they're so inclined to do so.
![]() 11/19/2014 at 01:32 |
|
They'll definitely be two separate series, that's for sure. What I think I'll suggest is two championship series (<2L and >3L) and make the off-Saturdays points races for the <2L cars. I'm actually really digging this idea, just ran the Cortina, Alfa GTA, BMW 2002, and 510 and they're lapping within a second of each other so it'd be a pretty fair series if we do start it up. Like I said I'll ask everyone else but this has my vote.

Sounds good to me, let me know when we have a verdict. I went through the fourza car list and compiled a list of cars to consider allowing into U2, sadly I can't test most of them due to me not having any DLC at this point.
1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale
1973 Ford Pinto
1966 Lotus Cortina
1971 Lotus Elan Sprint *
1973 BMw 2002 Turbo *
1970 Datsun 510
1973 911 Carrera RS *
1962 Triumph TR3B *
1963 VW Beetle
1967 VW Karmann Ghia
1969 Chevy Corvair Monza *
A star indicates that it's almost eligible according to original rules, but has something that would technically disallow it. They are included in the same spirit I interpreted from the O2 rules. (most of the cars we're allowing wouldn't be allowed in the actual series, mostly because of the 5.0 liter displacement limit, if we used it, we'd only be able to use the '69 Z28 and I believe the '65 mustang)

Will do. I have all DLC's so I'll get around to the cars at some point this week and see how they all stack up. I was thinking of using the Cortina, Pinto, 510, 911, 2002, GTA, Escort, and Beetle (since they were part of the Two-Five Challenge) if we're trying to stay as faithful as we can to the original Trans-Am cars, though (as you mentioned) we bent the rules a bit for the bigger cars, may have to do that for the lower class too. I'll probably test all the ones you mentioned just to be safe.

Actually had time tonight to test a few more cars. So far so good, seems like B450 is the best PI to go with.

Guys seemed cool with the idea in a "if you wanna organize all that" kinda way, not a ton of enthusiasm but still think we're going to go ahead with it. I've made the post for it, just check the sidebar or my personal blog and tell me what you think.

Guys seemed to really like the idea after we got around to testing a few of the cars so it looks like we'll go ahead with the idea. In addition to the cars I mentioned we added the 131 Abarth and Skyline GT-R. Final draft of the rules are here, I'd love some more input: http://svtyler.kinja.com/the-opposite-l…
