B-17s and Cats spotting through the breaks in cloud cover are a hell of a thing -as is finding the fleet in the middle of an idiotic Chinese fire drill of airborne munitions.

Of course they do. They have the biggest navy in the world, so it makes sense that they have the most ships in Battleship.

not at the time. In the battle of midway the USN had 3 carriers and their support ships (no BBs). The IJN (4 carriers and 2 BBs with support ships) had us out nummbered and outgunned. But we knew where they were and they didn't know where we were, hence the mirror in the comic.
