Good question! Are video games at fault that 16 year olds think they can blast down a country road at 130+ mph? I don't know. With every school shooting (when did the time come that we even didn't have to mention them separately?) they blame ego-shooters. You may or may not have a point here. Good food for thougt though, I might even use that question for a classroom discussion one day.

I don't think that VGs are going to make a stone cold killer out of normal kid. But they might be enough to push a borderline psycho over the edge. I can say with certainty, though, that VGs can make you fail to understand the finality of death, or cheapen the meaning of death. My 9-year-olds throw around "I killed you" and "You're dead" as if they were telling jokes. But then again, in my day, we played cops & robbers or cowboys & indians and argued over whether or not we had killed each other.

I've seen numerous people just over the last couple of days drifting around in their lane while texting. One woman going 50 on a 70 interstate cause she was staring at her phone down by her knee. Texting/driving will be illegal in Austin starting Jan. 1. Not that it will help. Hell, the cops can still drive while they type on their laptops.

I wish our state would adopt stricter rules on it. We have a county ban but there are still a lot of people who do. I'll text in my car but only at a stop light. I shouldn't even do that.
