If you didn't know, Oct. 1st I purchased a house and started living in it. The previous owners left behind numerous things, including two huge tube TVs.
Last Saturday a neighbor and I tested the upstairs tv, it worked well for the most part until I played gundam: encounters in space for ps2 (a ps2 that was supposedly broken that they left behind) . Yesterday I tested the downstairs one, and surprisingly, it's in great shape. Probably doesn't mean much to you guys, but to me it means a possible video game LAN party (if needed).
The downstairs tv, with various vid game stuff stuff boxed. I need to go through those two gray containers, they are full of computer parts and cords and any tv cords (like coaxial, component, etc), and see what I don't need. And yes, those are three Gamecubes on the gray boxes.
Upstairs TV. That's a Dreamcast on top on it, this thing is massive. It's on a platform that swivels, but it's so heavy I can barely move it on the platform.
So Im über excited about both tvs working, now if I can just get the antenna connected to the tv downstairs (plus a bluray/dvd with netflix) it would be perfect...

I stole one from my father's basement to use with my PS2. It's nice and big too. :-3

please install a copy of Tony Hawk Pro skater 2 into the dreamcast and mail it to me :)

Huh, well, once I figure out how to properly install a DC game onto a cd-r, I'm gonna have to re-tryout tony hawk 2. It's been a while since I play it.

The tvs are staying when they are... I can't really move them, :/. The downstairs tv, was on the floor yesterday morning. It took me a bit, but I got it on that stand all by myself. Then I got yelled at by the Mrs for not asking for help (I thought she was busy).
And I got by video component switch box out, so I can connect up to 4 systems at a time, :).

Huh, didn't think that far ahead. I would imagine there is an adapter for it. I know adapters for coaxial to component do not exist (I'm sorry my Sega genesis), but hdmi to component might exists.....I'm a wishful thinker...:)

The converter is a separate powered device. Kind of a pain because it is converting a digital signal to analog. Also, I think you mean composite, not component. They are easy to mix up. Composite is the yellow cable, component is the Y Pb Cr deal.

Did I ever play the shit out of that game. Almost always used Bucky Lasek too.
That was one of my favorite Dreamcast titles. That and Crazy Taxi.

Did all of those game systems come with the house, or were they already yours?

Rune Glifberg for the win with me. I think that and Crazy taxi were all I ever played on it really. Oh shit those and SOUL CALIBER

composite then. If lowes has one, then I'll be good. Using there card for for home repairs has been an immense blessing.

Naw, they are all mine, I've been collecting for years, until I became a father, so there's no extra cash anymore. The previous owners left just a ps2, and a golf game that was stuck in it.
I just got sick of selling games to GameStop for mediocre prices, and missing the games that I had sold. So I decided to stop selling what I had and hoard it. I mean, I was offered $12 for my Dreamcast, that thing is worth more in fun than $12 dollars.

Game collector eh? Have anything relating to the Turbografx-16?
Oh, and SCORE on the working TVs!!

That's a concerning amount of Kleenex.

Sadly, I so not have that one...yet. The oldest I have is the SNES and the Genesis. Being a father has decreased my personal spending by 99.9%.
And thanks! My next electronic issue I'm gonna tackle is getting the ps2 to work properly. For some reason, the disc drive won't eject when the cover is on it...

House rule, always have facial tissues on hand, if possible, one in every [main] room. Seasonal allergies insist on it.

Oh good, they're yours. I thought it was another thing left by the previous owner, that would have me concerned and steam cleaning every surface.

Ha, you have a point. They left some stuff like the two tvs, a ps2, a desk, a chair to go with the desk, some Xmas supplied, two weed wackers, and some other things.
They threw away a desktop computer though, which I thought was dumb. I dumpster dived for that. I've always wanted a server desktop, just to dabble in that area a bit, so now I have one. :)

I just started "collecting". I used to own a TG16 when it first came out, and then many others since then (bought and sold a lot). Now that we have a bigger house, no more kids will be coming along, and we have kind of "settled" in, I bought another. I'm starting to buy up games. But I am more into playing than collecting, which it sounds like you are as well.
I just scored a near perfect Mario Paint CIB off Ebay. I do not even own an SNES yet. I want to get one so I can play Mario Paint, and Sid Meier's Civilization.
But that only comes when I get extra money. As a father of two, the struggle is real.

CIB = complete in box, right? there are special consoles that you can get that can play nes & snes games, but they arnt official.
Personally, I would love a Dingoo [ http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingoo_A3… ], but the price still is a bit much. But a handheld device with various emulated consoles sounds fascinating.

yup, complete in box.
I've seen those systems, but I think I'll stick with the real deal. I'm a bit of a purist. LOL

Oh I prefer the real deal by a long shot, but the older systems are sometimes harder to come by, :(.
I'd love a nes-101 ( http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_… ). Never seen one in person though, but the idea of a top loader game system is nice. The nes that every one fondly remembers was modeled to be like a VCR. And if I remember right, there was an issue with them breaking with the way it's set up. I would imagine a top loading game system would last longer, :).

Have you tried out Lukie Games?
I am sure I am not helping you any by showing you that site...LOL
They are a little (okay, on some things, a LOT) over priced. But if you look around, you may find something.
Also try out Game Gavel. It is an auction site just for game stuff.

Nice, ill have to check them out later. By my in-laws, there's a store that is like GameStop, but deal only with used games and all generations of consoles. I got my genesis, 2 controllers, every sonic game for the system, some other popular games, all for $50. I thought it was a fair desk, :).

Holy crap! Wish there was something like that around here.

Ha, you just got to know where to look. Places to check: re-sale shops, flea markets, garage sales, collectible stores, sometimes antique stores, you get the idea.
There's even a place the next town over, which specializes in selling collectible stuff. Last time I was in there, he had 3 Sega genesis. I only found the store because I was following a lead looking for diecast cars.
Also, it helps that my friends and family know that I collect game consoles and games. I tend to be the person that they off-load there older consoles and games on (it's the reason I have 3 GCN).
Basically, ask around, go to stores where you normally wouldn't enter, you'd be surprised on what you find, :).
