Me thinks this 58 Impala will suit your needs rather well. Let us not forget the beauty of old and embrace the innovation of the future

I want to say this was the only year for this body style, which is among my favorite. What a great car.

the 58 is a one year only body but the first in the x frame full size Chevys. The x frame was used from 58 till 64

Which means my dad's '64 Bel Air was related to that car. Wow. I barely remember that car, but I drove same year Impala SS. What a tank.

The 58 did lend itself to a good custom job.

I think one of the downsides is it looks very similar to other cars of the era. On the bright side it is an excellent design even if it does look similar.

True - there are some things I would have cleaned up - on the other hand, the upper and lower lines, split by that chrome strip, really do it for me. The rear deck is ever so slightly raised, and that also does it.

Not as a big as a 65 and later. My grandpa has a 61 impala and that was one of the best riding cars I have ever driven but big for me since I'm used to my camaros.

Really they just needed a little clean up. They were close to factory customs.

Nice, I didn't know they stuck the roof scoop on the 4 door impalas. My grandpas 56 chevy has a lot of parts off a 59 chevy including that scoop and the rear bumper and roll pans.

'65 was bigger? Wow. Wonder how it's related to the '69 Impala dad replaced it with ... and then another Impala, and another, and another ....

yeah bigger all around. 69 was a yacht compared to a 65. My grandpa has had a lot of impalas as well. 61,64,65,67. 58 del ray as well

Current SS should be called Impala SS ... it's a designation that means something. How cool would it be to see a stripped ... whatever that body designation is ... with a small V8 and a 6M gearbox. Call it the Bel Air, or Biscayne. Pretty cool.

On a 50s car you can never have too much chrome
