I have a friend who is loving the Flash and hasn't even attempted to watch Gotham because it's a cop show. I tried explaining to him it's not a procedural like CSI or Law and Order but more character driven like Chicago Code and compare it to the bank robbing scene in Dark Knight which he says is one of his favorite scenes.

He still can't be bothered to try and watch it. One of our favorite parts for me and the wife has been the Penguin. He's a very driven character.

I actually liked the movie, too. Except for Shaia LeBouf (or however you spell it) But he got killed anyway, so that made it better.

I know I was worried about it when they were first talking about but even with all their shortcomings I think they are doing very well. I think anyone who has been defending Gotham and watching the whole season so far feels very justified after the last episode.

I love the story development and how they are not another monster of the week type show(I'm looking at you Grimm)

I'm rather enjoying it myself. There's some missteps, but Matt Ryan is NAILING it as John, and Zed is a massive improvement over the girl from the Pilot. Right now I think there's a little too much handholding in the wrong places. Especially when it comes to characters I feel like it's better to show than tell.

I'm also watching Gotham, Flash, and Arrow. Some musings;

- Gotham started off pretty bad and has steadily gotten to "okay, at least it's interesting" but they keep ruining it with little audience "winks." I also hate a some characters simply because they only serve as little more than a way to "up the stakes." (COUGH BARBARA COUGH)

- The Flash is corny as hell and knows it. It's nice to have a superhero show that's a little lighthearted compared to the rest of them, but good God the dialogue has more cheese than the state of Wisconsin. The Felicity crossover was great, and I await the Arrow crossover most eagerly.

- Arrow can pretty much do no wrong for me, and after a season opener that mostly served to show off their new VFX budget, they've come pretty firmly back to being freaking awesome. Characters I hated before are developing into people I don't despise, characters who were great before are getting better, and one character has decided that walking is too boring and has made a habit of doing flips over everything. It's great.
