Voted for Riviera, meant Voodoo

mind is exploding right now

So many good options

I guess I'll just have to try to pick my favorite

The Voodoo blue should really be a more common color. It is gorgeous in my opinion.

I know. I'm pissed that there is weird font before and after the poll though.

Balbi Blue is so subtle, yet so elegant.

hey don't be mad. At least you got it to work. I've never even tried

I went with voodoo blue

I don't think I've seen it in real life so I can't say for sure if it's my favorite. I probably only seen a couple of these blues in real life. Is there a blue GT3 meet going on somewhere that I could attend? :)

Indeed.

True.

It's a fairly rare color. Not that I know of.

Balbi blue is a really, really nice color. That said, I love Aqua blue with the orange graphics and wheels. It's not nearly as subtle as the plain Balbi, but it's a really great combo regardless.

Color - Porsche GT3? Are you kidding me? Who cares.

I went with Mexico blue.

Kinja'd!!!1

I love Balbi blue, but honestly I'd go for a different shade GT3, unless you plan on daily driving. There's something just perfect about a track porsche that stands out, and Balbi is too subtle for that.

11/08/2014 at 19:37

I'm all for Gulf livery (love the Heritage edition Ford GT) but for some reason I'm not too fond of the color combo with the GT3 graphics.

Aqua. To be honest, it's funny that you made this post actually, because I was looking through my Autoweek this morning and it just so happens that there's an Aqua Blue GT3 with the Orange graphics in the classifieds, and I was thinking how much I liked Aqua blue as a color.

That would be perfect. You could even swap out the wheels for traditional silver and it wouldn't even look too out of place being daily driven.

Aqua blue and Gold would be a lovely combination too.

Kinja'd!!! CAcoalminer > AM3R
11/09/2014 at 00:14

Kinja'd!!!0

Haha. I just realized that I spelled it "Balbi" when it's actually "Bali." Oops.

Good luck finding a Bali Blue one, as the only 997 GT3 that I know of is a 4.0 that lives in CA. However, Aqua Blues, while not the most common color, are fairly easy to find. That being said, if you were to order one, you could get either one.

Please tell me you have come to your senses after letting go of past GT3s and you are ordering a new one?! I like Bali blue more than I thought I would, but I'll have to propose a write-in

Kinja'd!!! CAcoalminer > B_dol
11/09/2014 at 13:54

Kinja'd!!!2

Haha. We'll see. I'm waiting for my local dealer to get a 991 GT3 in on trade because they have agreed to let me have one for a week. If I like it enough, I might just buy one and then order a GT3 RS. However, even if I do like, I might just buy a 997 GT2 and order a GT3 RS because the GT2 prices are quite similar to the 991 GT3.

Concerning colors, I think Sapphire Blue is my favorite 991 color but am seriously considering going the PTS route so that I can get Bali Blue.

Kinja'd!!!1

That's one helluva test drive, working my way towards that status... The GT3 will never be subtle enough to blend in with the crowd, but sometimes the simple colors are most striking. Manufacturer's blue hues have been gorgeous as of late and Porsche has plenty to offer.

I have generated a few too many 'custom builds' on the Porsche USA website...

Kinja'd!!! CAcoalminer > B_dol
11/09/2014 at 14:24

Kinja'd!!!0

I'm sure you'll be there soon.

I agree. Factory colors in general have improved immensely over the years. Of course, I've always had a soft spot for dark blues.

Haha. There is no shame in that.

A Bali blue Carrera 4s would make for an excellent daily driver. I haven't found too many Bali blue 997's though. I've definitely found many more Aqua blues, which is also a great color.

I'm definitely looking into getting a 991 GT3 but not a 997, as I've already owned those.

This explains it fairly well:

Oh a 997 GT3 just looks gorgous in blue.. Let me know how it goes. Can't go wrong with either (997 or 991) honestly. Certainly a good "problem" to be in haha, spending a week with a GT3 should be good enough to help you decide, though.

Kinja'd!!! CAcoalminer > AM3R
11/09/2014 at 18:10

Kinja'd!!!0

I certainly will.

Haha. I think if I can't decide whether I like a car or not after living with it for a week, then there is something wrong with me.

Kinja'd!!! AM3R > CAcoalminer
11/09/2014 at 18:28

Kinja'd!!!1

Yeah haha, if you aren't in love with it in a week you have to step up to a 918!

Exactly.

I have a friend with a 991 GT3, he's currently waiting on his 918 to be delivered. He also has a Huayra awaiting delivery. He's completely in love with the GT3, I can't even imagine how great the 918 must be!

Kinja'd!!!

The 918 after being completed in Germany.

Kinja'd!!!

He's trying to organize private track day to shoot a video comparing his 918, Huayra, his friends P1, and a Laferrari (I think he's located an interested owner).

Meanwhile I'm still trying to coax the Porsche dealership into letting me take a 991 turbo home for a weekend. I still have an open offer to spend a weekend with a GT-R they have.

I'm not quite sure yet, I know he's hoping to have it delivered with the 918 as it's currently still with Pagani in Europe.

I believe so, as long as it isn't a completely custom color. For instance, getting the paint code from McLaren wouldn't be terribly difficult.
