I spotted my old Civic this morning in a KMart parking lot! It lives in Rhode Island now and needs a washing.

I noticed it had the body color matching Civic Si grille that I had swapped on. The front plate had a frame advertising the dealership I traded it in to as well!

I quick check around the back confirmed the car was mine when I saw the '09 taillights I swapped on too. The '09 had the clear turn signals with the Amber bulb rather than the '08's red bulb and lense.

Also spotted the unfortunate scar from when it got keyed :/

I was going to leave a note, but I thought that might have been weird. This is the first of my previous cars I've found in the wild. My father still has my old jeep and Ive never been able to see my Saturn SC2. That's probably in a scrap yard somewhere...

Did you stick hubcaps back on it before trading it in, Haha?

We sold my mom's 1996 Volvo 850 with 100K back in 2003 to a local guy. We see him/it every now and then. Despite a non-working odometer, he claims he has well over 350K on the car!

Did you take the alloy wheels with you?

lol yep! The dealership actually wanted the stock steelies and hubcaps back on it before they took it, instead of my Honda factory alloys... Whatever, sold those on CL a few weeks later!

that's awesome! Yeah the dealership that took it in trade actually asked me to put the stock wheels back on it. Sold them on CL for $600 later! They were factory alloys too, 17's off the Crosstour

I often wonder if my old '87 300D is still trundling around somewhere. Dark blue, gray tex, DC area if anyone runs across it. I'm sure my '91 CRX is out there, but it's likely so tricked out that it's unrecognizable as such.

If you kept one Crosstour off the road by taking its wheels, you have performed a public service, sir.

Had an opportunity to recommend one and went with a Ray Magliozzi recommendation instead - used Ford Freestyle. Roomy, versatile, AWD, and every village smithy can fix it. Buddy is 6'8" and loves it - fits in it no problem.
