So I commented on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! article yesterday and I got a bunch of very interesting responses
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
They were almost all from people who evidently don't browse oppo a lot, because they were almost all grey comments.
The comment itself was in fun, but kind of serious, it was relating to where some car companies such as GM don't disclose that a car is a lemon to CarFax or AutoCheck, but it seemed quite odd to me to get this many responses to something that was kind of supposed to be a joke, only one person even got it was supposed to be. My guess would be that you can't really convey your tone of how you are saying something over the internet. but the comment was meant to be sarcastic.

Sarcasm gets translated through the Internet as well as Chinese to English, by Google translate.

It can be a tough joke to land, considering that there are far too many people who say this kind of thing and actually believe it.

This is gold. Wish I'd followed TPC before today.
No political joke is better than "Thanks, OBAMA."

I couldn't help but comment to the guy who thinks the jud iciary enforces laws rather than judge them, and doesn't think that the Execut ive branch execute s laws.

Thanks, Obama is comedy gold, but if you use it among the uninitiated then all hell will break loose as some bash you for defaming the president, others pile on "that socialist" etc., and still just a few more say, "YEAH, THANKS!!!!"
We'll miss him when he's gone 'cause there will be nobody to blame for rises in newspaper prices, Twinkie shortages, lack of decent beer, beer temperature, the pronunciation of French words, gas mileage, AND WHY IS THE GOD DAMNED INTERNET DOWN AGAIN?!!!?

yeah, I totally thought that too, it was really weird me, I believe that my government class, which has probably had the content reviewed by a bunch of editors is more correct than joe schmoe off of the street. plus the root words of exectuitive and judicial.

I have been on a blame obama for everything lately, almost all sarcasm, americans should have to pass a test to become parents, because far too many stupid people are allowed to reproduce. plus politics are just obnoxious anyway.

I did blame obama (in fun) when the internet was not working well for a couple weeks, and the reason was the fact we had a 15 year old cable modem.

I have a very distant family member who is seriously trying to impeach obama, hasn't worked out real well.... yet.

it was a thanks obama joke, that about 12 people didn't get, and only one who commented did.

I know. People are so stupid sometimes.

I routinely actively troll hyper-conservative (we're talking Ron Swanson wannabes/agreeing with Stephen Colbert without irony) friends on Facebook. It's a fun way to kill a morning...

lets just say I'm not a liberal.... but I get the conservative hate. I would probably troll them as well.

Yeah, I get you. I personally don't really identify with either side at the moment, I think the answers to most of the country's problems lie somewhere between the rhetoric of the two main parties.

agreed, when I voted today, I voted more republican because I lean right more than left, though I would say I am very much in the middle. I did vote for a few democrats as well. Why I don't vote for independents is there is a very very low chance that they will actually be elected, so its pointless to waste a vote. It is very hard to even get information on what people stand for in my state, education is one of my more important issues, and so I voted liberal, mostly hoping for more funding for schools, especially since I will be in college next year. (I turned 18 only 2 days ago).
