I really want a 74 AMX. They look so good. Kinda like a 67 Camaro but slightly better IMO.

There was a clean straight 6, three speed Javelin(base model) for sale near me for 7500. It was even painted like an AMX.

You're right it's a pretty sharp lookin car, though I can also see some Mustang mixed in along with the Camaro. The thing is that you can find parts for the Camaro everywhere , I'm not so sure about the AMX so you'd have to find one that is in really good condition. Plus, in '74 you're talking about a low compression smog motor you'd have to be prepared to do a little tweaking to make power.

In the 70's, Alabama had 401 equipped Javelins as state trooper cars. I saw one at a car show once, and I've loved them ever since.

That's awesome. In the 80's NY had Fox Body Highway patrol cars. Pretty damn awesome.

Ex-GF had a Javelin of that vintage. A handful. I've heard the one to have is the '69 - if you can find one at a reasonable price.

I would love to have a few back that my grandpa and I have flipped over the years but I'm glad to still have my 68 sitting in the garage. They are a blast to drive

FYI - the 2nd gen body style (1971+) AMX is exactly the same as the regular Javelin. It was only the 68-70 that was a different (2 seat) body style. 1971 and after it was just an option package on the regular Javelin.
