The front passenger side speaker in the van blew out today. I was jamming a little too hard for the poor 21 year old speakers.
Now when a song goes from speaker-to-speaker (namely The Beatles I've noticed) the left sounds good and the right sounds like I'm a mile away and it's coming through a gramophone.
UPGRADE TIME!
Gotta catch some Infinity units like my dad has on sale.

Here's what you people don't seem to understand, I am stuck with it for at least two more years. I do not have the means to spend $3k+ to replace it.
A set of four speakers is like $200. Which will hold me over until I DO have the means to.

What song?

When it blew out? Something by Shinedown I think. I'm not sure, I'm a person who always listens to the radio loud. Louder then I should honestly.

Nice, I love Simple Man. I blew out my speakers twice in high school.

if you keep spending 200 here, 200 there, no shit you dont have the means to replace it.

We've spent $800 to get it mechanically sound. It's a car I know the full history of and know is going to be reliable transport. The speakers would make it an even thousand.
Compare that to if I'd have spent $1,000 on a car. It would probably run and look like shit, I wouldn't know the history of it, and I wouldn't trust the thing to be reliable as far as I can throw it.
So yeah, some cash has been thrown at it in the last year to make it road-worthy. But it was in tiny increments that was affordable, and look, I have a car that might visually look bad, but it runs well and is reliable.

"is reliable"
then is it just me, or is every othewr time you speak about this, something has gone wrong (these speakers for example)
In either case, if you wanna keep it, keep it. Ive seen money thrown at dumber stuff.

Stupid little shit that doesn't matter. The dent in the fender, the speaker, the paint. None of which have to do with reliability. I go out every morning and it starts, it's never left me stranded, I can count it on to get me where I need to go.

To Shinedown's abomination of a cover? Ew... At least use the Deftone's version :(

The good news:
Even walmart specials will sound much better than anything stock 21 years ago.

I see how you got that, but I definitely did not blow them out on that song.
