My brother is having rotten luck with his LGT and needs new rims, I found the stock size as 17x7 5x100 55+, I found a set of BBs that are 17x7 5x100 48+ would these work or is that going to be an issue? They came off a wrx wagon. Thoughts?

should work just fine. I had a set of WRX wheels on my 2.5RS.

7mm ain't going to make a difference. Go for it.

Thats not a huge difference in offset, I would expect that you probably won't have any clearance issues and you would have to be the most in-tune driver in the world to notice the change in scrub-center... Probably good to go.

his is a 4th gen, so Im not sure if the extra offset will be an issue.

I don't expect that 7mm more offset could cause much of an issue and even if it does it could be solved easily with a small set of spacers. If there is a problem, he'd likely only see it at full lock in the steering but as I say, I think it's unlikely to interfere.

I don't know if the centre bore is the same but I'd just double check that. If these wheels are coming off a Subaru, I would expect it to be correct.

as others have states, I think this is a small difference, it will push the wheels outwards slightly. if you look in the wheel wells you'll see the stock wheels have some wiggle room. you can obviously measure the wiggle room and determine if you have enough room to push the wheels outwards 7mm. basically if you could get a finger in and out even when the wheel is at full compression you'll have enough room

Sounds great, he was about to drop $1400 on wheels and tires, I can get 4 BBS for $450 and then have some tires shipped from tire rack.

keep in mind, if you increase the tyre width as well you'll eat up even more wheel well space. if you maintain the same tyre width (which you should since they are both 7inch wide wheels) I believe you'll have enough room.

obviously, I'm not looking at it, so proceed with some caution, but in my opinion you'll have room
