Let me start off by saying Forza 5 is a major disappointment. Not worth the $60, probably not worth the Xbox One as a whole. Then I got Forza Horizon 2, and shit went north.
Seriously, how often do you get the chance to jump a Celica GT-Four?
I bought a Local Motors Rally Fighter in-game, so that happened as well.

I felt like Forza 5 was a major disappointment and 1-dimensional, not literally, but in terms of being interesting.

Is this like Horizon 1, where you have to buy the car to drive it, or is there a free roam that you can drive them all, like in Fourza?

It looks really good, but it does get boring really quickly. One time, I literally spent a whole night on Forza 4 advancing through the Japanese-make events and falling in love with the Miata Superlight.
Forza 5 is just... Worse.

Never played Horizon 1, but I do think you have to buy the car to drive it. Some challenges, you get to drive a pre-determined car though, like chasing a train in a Fulvia or racing the Tricolore in an F430 Scuderia.

Dammit. I like not having to buy to drive.

Meh, I prefer to buy the car first because it... It just feels better, OKAY???

Have they finally fixed their downforce aerodynamic physics? Live for Speed is still the best physics engine I've ever used, with Richard Burns Rally as a close second. Forza just feels like all the aero bits on the car are doing NOTHING and everything is a bit too slippy-slidey.

To be honest, it doesn't feel entirely real. That being said, Horizon 2 is still fun to play.

I feel really bad for you.
Forza isn't for you, stick with arcade games like playground studios makes.
Game is for people who a online social hang out and even though it's suppose to be some great monument to cars the driving is heavily diminished and ultimately sucks vs. Forza 5.

I'm too broke for new games, but GT5 offers ample jumps for 5 different GT-Four versions. :D
Not a fanboy, just sayin'. I want in on some sweet sweet Horizon too.

One thing that kind of bothered me about Horizon 1 (and it's a really, really small thing) was the dirt. You could drive a corvette ZR1 on a gravel trail at 100 miles an hour and come out the other end with the car looking pristine, and only kicking up little clouds of pixellated dust behind you. I want to see my cars get dirty. I don't really know why, but it just adds a lot to the realism and lunacy of tossing around expensive performance cars with hopeless abandon.

They get dirty in Horizon 2.
