I got home and found some photos I took of the last car he had as he was having it appraised for Cash for Clunkers.
I need to give him advice on which of these three cars to get.
So far the standings are:
4Runner
X-Terra
Acura
10 other things.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Note: You've heard of "original owner"... well, my brother-in-law is always the 'last owner". Which means no matter what car he gets, he's the one that sends it to the junkyard..
No matter the age, no matter the model, no matter the mileage... he will kill it.

I told him I liked the Toyota, but he needs to get the 4Runner an pre-purchase inspection to see if the timing belt has been done.

You should look on the dash to the left of the steering column of the 4Runner to see if it has a button marked RR DIFF LOCK. '99-'00 4Runner Limited with the optional rear locking diff is pretty sought after.
I tried to find it in the pics on the dealer's site but they don't have anything from this angle. This is what the switch looks like.
But seriously, a firm,
"What the fuck is wrong with you, why didn't you change your car's oil for years?"
Is very much in order.

I would have hated to have gotten a flat tire in that thing. The spare is useless.

Right. He needs to look for that button, then make sure the dude doesn't buy it if it has it.

I told you. Either the X-Terra or a Fiero 2M4 automatic.
