Surprisingly something nice. It looked unrestored as well.

Seriously legit. I kind of wonder about the wrinkly soft-top, though - stretch due to age, or new top that didn't get fitted and shrunk correctly?

It needed replaced, it was old. Also, I think it was probably a quick "Let's put it up while we're in Walmart." type deal.

That top was made out of a tarp or something?

Maybe it was stored down for long periods of time?

Nope, just old. Also, it looks like they put the top up just to go into the store, so it was kind of just covering the interior.

I'd guess, if it's an old one. Most of the ones on older cars like that I've seen only wrinkle up like that if they got stored good and wet once. Otherwise it's the cracks and rub spots you see.
Depends on what they're made of, of course. Brit cars with vinyley stuff will skip all other steps and go straight to "cracked, and look like shit". At least canvas gets motheaten first.

I must admit, it was nice. It made me remember the time when me and my Dad went to this old Chevy graveyard, and it was full of this body style Corvettes. It also had a bunch of Corvairs. Then there was the '69 Stingray 427 in the garage.
