Nah man. I call for a DNA test. There was definitely an affair with a Countryman somewhere in that marriage.

Actually, I'd say it's even deeper. It's as if a Ferrari and an Aston had a baby, and they learned that there's some MINI DNA in the family too.

Looks more like a Fisker Karma And a Mini Countryman did the nasty

Is this one of those "voitures sans permis"? Cars you don't need a licence to drive?

It's a French microcar made by a company called Chatenet. They even offer a coupé, a cabriolet (à la 500C), a pickup and an estate of this car.

I was thinking it was some kind of Chinese knock off. It's just weird enough that I sort of like it in a way.

Looks like it's a Chatanet CH26, a "voiture sans permis". Meaning a car you can drive in France without a licence.

Fear not, as the Countryman definitely has something to do with this one :
But I don't know what kind of marriage it was since you can also get this :

If you want to have fun, check out this list of manufacturers on the French wikipedia.

And it's customary for the owner of these car to be fat and illogical when they drive it.

Nope, if it was Chinese, it would at least have the excuse of being cheap, but Chatenets are surprisingly expensive.

It looks ok. If you squint. Really hard. 3500 miles away. With a blindfold on.
