Instead of opening a New Cafe, i think it's wiser to spend the money on importing cars from UK instead, and selling it here in Indonesia. I mean, just look at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and the RX8 before this. Let's hope Mrs Aya likes my idea.

Seriously in Indonesia these W221 S500 cost about 3x of this one. My Plan is, since i have 2 empty garage space i'll import 2 cars from UK, drive it for a couple of months, and sell it. When it's sold i'll import more of them, but not more than 2, to keep things looks like i'm just a rich fella that loves to change car (which is not).

Let's see how it works out. And oh, the S-Class pic is not related to the one on Autotrader.

But surely the prices are high due to import taxes, so when importing one from the UK the same taxes will apply, no?

Well, let's do some math.

This S-Class, let's say arrived in Indonesia for about 16k Quid.

Because the S-Class has 5 litre V8, you get a 150% Import tax penalty which bring the car price to 40k

To drive it on the road, you need to pay a 10% extra road tax, which is 44k.

How much an S-Class sold in here?

51k GBP

And that car has twice the mileage as mine, so i'm ahead already.

Well, with haggling it's safe to say i could land it at 16k or something around that.

But i guess i'll stick to small cars first like RX8, and see when GBP drops.

You should also think about importing from Japan and HK, import would be cheaper as well as initial car prices.
