Corvette does it right
370z does it right
2 BMW's do it right
Mustangs could have done it right.
The Camaro is beyond disappointing.
Of course the Cayman is king with 2 trunks.
Why are there not more of these most cars have a tiny trunk when there is so much potential?
Any more notable hatch's opening? I am excluding hatchbacks as a whole for this post. Why are most sedans/coupes/anything not like this?

Fox body Mustangs did it right...

The Smart Roadster Coupe did it pretty well too.

You forgot the best one.

This is true. It is one of my favorites, now if only they had continued.....

924s do it outstandingly right. (Pic stolen from a post of Stef's, who stole it from elsewhere).

Model S does it extra right because jump seats.

Opel Insignia (Buick Regal)
Ford Mondeo (Fusion) (edit: that's the wagon. I couldn't find a decent picture of the opened trunk of the hatch
Audi A7
Audi A5
Should I go on?

Mazda 6 hatchbacks are like Mazda 6 sedans in disguise:

Fiat does it.... as right as can be done with such a small car!

Gen Coupe isn't quite as bad as the Camaro
bonus round

Yes, but at least with the Zonda you get the sound. :P

You should be head of car design and did not know about the ford. Good to know

I did not know about this. The mazda 6 hatchback just won. +10

This is new. That is simply amazing. I think model S just gets better and better.

A surprisingly comfortable place to spend a night, at least in the C6.

Plus if I have the money to afford either zonda model I could probably afford to skip the luggage and just pay skantily clad mistresses to bathe and dress me once I get to wherever it is I'm traveling.

You almost can't tell the sedan and hatchback apart when the rear is closed.

If I was wealthy I'd certainly buy one. The only negatives it really has are range and maybe the touch screen dash. All the cool stuff makes up for that.

I really want to ride in those. It has got to be at least a little scary, right? Maybe a bit of a thrill ride on a windy road. I also want to give the ones on the E-class wagon a try sometime. My only jump seat experience was in a Camry wagon. Fortunately it was raining that day and the dual wipers were on.

Rear wiper!

Good call, I didn't even consider that giveaway!
I think this is the only car (at least recently) to come in sedan, hatchback, and wagon versions... Unless you count the Honda Accord Aerodeck as a hatchback.
Just for shits, another one:

I think it'd be fun, unfortunately adults wont quite fit in them...

I … uhh…
The space inside isnt bad though. This is my car filled up to move back to college last year.

And it has a specious frunk.

Hahaha yeah that looks ridiculous. Maybe next time I see one at cars and coffee I'll ask. Those Tesla owners just love their cars and showing people the features.

I saw one of those the other day, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me

944 does it and wins.
Fold down those rear seats too and I've got plenty of space. :)

Yessir, it was called the 5-door. It came in 1st gen for sure, but I dunno about 2nd gen.

In the US? Probably. The first gen focus does come in mind though. In Europe, however, it's very common. Many to most manufacturers offer a hatch, wagon and sedan of one model. Even American corporation do; the 2014 Ford Focus and Mondeo (Fusion) have all three, as do the 2014 Opel Astra (Buick Verano) and Insignia (Regal). Even the now discontinued (in Europe) 2014 Chevy Cruze offered all three options. And those are just the American owned vehicles, the Europeans do it as well, both in the compact and mid size segment. In Europe.

Ugh, yes, the Focus... I have no idea how I forgot that one.
Yeah, the US market, unfortunately, doesn't like a whole lot of 5-door/liftback action. Which is a shame, if for no other reason than to have some variety.
