Some of you may recall my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! pertaining to work from a little over a week ago. Well I took, with many grains of salt, Oppos advice, and set out to find myself a new job.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

My biggest concern was that I didn't want to take something professional with the foreknowledge that I would be leaving in 6-ish months. Most of you told me to stop worrying about the companies and just worry about me, but my morality wouldn't allow me to burn bridges like that.

After long deliberation, I decided to walk a path I once attempted to walk many years ago. I have officially accepted a position selling cars for Oppos favorite used car retailer. I sold cars before, but I was only there for 2 months before a major accident resulting in much surgery and recuperation lost the position for me.

There is no guaranteed income, so this could potentially screw me over, but at the least, I won't wake up in the morning dreading my commute or the long day of nothingness ahead.

I must say, the look on my bosses face when I handed him my two weeks was a bit surprising. A bit of anger and hostility if I do say so myself. But a much relieving feeling for me. Timing is perfect too becasue I basically finish off this job with the SEMA show, and then I'm gone.

Thanks to all ye Oppos wise(ish) advice.

Thanks man. It's going to be a lot of work to get to that point in a short period of time, but it should be well worth it.

No reasonable employer would be angry or hostile when one of their employees takes a better opportunity. My last job was awful and my higher ups tried to make me feel like shit for leaving. Little did they know they made it so much easier to leave. Congrats to you, onward and upward!

Agreed. He just looked at it, glared at me, and said, "okay" and stormed out. I chuckled becasue it was like, well if you wanted to know part of what was driving me to leave, there it is.

No doubt. Make money, travel, find out where you want to be and live life.

Sounds about as good as a plan can be. If you find yourself by Detroit/Ann Arbor I'd be more than happy to show you around. There are obviously many auto related jobs around.
