94,430? Noob. LOLz.
350,000 on my Accord... and sadly its close to death since the valve seals are shot. So, the car burns oil and it's been giving me electric issues. Super.

Its my dads, he takes RTD to work so It rarely gets driven. But when I get my license, that thing is gonna go places

My dad's 2003 Town & Country made it to 330,000 kilometres on the original engine and transmission, which only started to go after 300,000. It was incredible. The noises it made were alright, but not as good as this.
Man, so many great and stupid memories from that van.

I give my mom's Ody a full power pull on back roads. the 250 HP it puts out is nuts.

The second gen Odyssey is known for transmission issues, so the fact that it is on its original tranny is kinda impressive.

Ours only has 210 HP, but it does 0-60 in 12 seconds last time I checked

I drive a lot of Odysseys for work. If I had a herd of children I wouldn't mind having one. It's like Honda engineers said "you know, you have to drive a minivan so let's not make it an unpleasant experience. The sienna is ok, and the Chrysler vans are meh, but the Ody is a good balance.

Good way to put it.

Used to have a '97 Odyssey as a kid. My cousin has it now with like 310,000 miles on the clock. Original drivetrain.

Thats the second to last year for the first gens, you got lucky. Two model years later and Youd have the same issues that we somehow avoided.

someone had the balls to do a 0-60 in 2007 Odyssey (same year as mom's). According to specs, 8.5, the video looks a bit quicker.
And a 2002, according to specs is 9.4, found a vid that did less.
Look at that VTEC kicking in at 4500.

I wish my Accord got rarely driven. Hardly ever does a day come by where that thing does not get driven. It's my daily driver, and I love the thing, but I want it to function properly again.

Yeah, let me just get this straight, yours has navigation? Thats amazing on a Honda from 2000, IIRC the Range Rovers got it in '99. For some reason cars with early navigation systems fascinate me.

A 2002 Ody has a different engine than ours. It has a J35A4.

Ours still works, but it kinda sucks

The 04 Accord Coupe V6 6MT will do it in half that time. Ask me how I know!

>400,000 miles on my mom's old Prelude. Never had any major work done on that car. The only thing that did it in was an idiot in a Grand Cherokee.
![]() 10/28/2014 at 23:12 |

Oddly, it still shows the same 0-60 time.
![]() 10/28/2014 at 23:17 |

It also weighs half what our van weighs. Our Ody weighs just over 2 tons

Weird

You do know cars explode when they get to 100,000 right? Enjoy those 5,570 miles while they last! (yes my tongue is in my cheek) BTW you have possibly just jinxed yourself with this post of yours, time to sell it.

Good thing about a Honda! They'll run until you force them to stop!

Hipster Honda was doing GPS navigation before it was cool.

God bless your tranny.

May it live for another 94000 miles (probably not)

Amen!

Dammit, you didn't ask. Well, I'll tell you anyways; My mom traded the Civic off for the vehicle mentioned above. Dear God it's quick.

When?
![]() 10/29/2014 at 00:00 |

Hah, we burned out a J35 this year in our '05 Ody 'cuz some brilliant local dealership decided that engines don't actually need oil to run...still, 120K miles and about another thousand with barely any oil, so we're not complaining...and the new 60K J35 sounds great when VTEC kicks in!

This van baffles me. It does things well that it just shouldnt. It sounds too good and is too fun to be a minivan.
![]() 10/29/2014 at 00:07 |

Exactly, but that's why you have it, right?

A few weeks ago. I haven't posted anything about it because, for one black paint doesn't stay clean, and I don't even have access to my point and shoot.

My mom (who knows nothing about cars) actually bought it new. I just got lucky

You should do it soon, snow is coming. If you have a chance to come down to Denver, I could do a photoshoot if you want. I could even help you clean it before the shoot.

Same for us and the '05, but I can't drive yet...

I sold my RX-8 in '08 and bought an '08 Odyssey when my daughter was born. I remember when I did my research I read that Honda targeted the Odyssey for BMW drivers who needed a minivan. Every time I drive my 128i, test drive another potential replacement for the Odyssey (Tahoe, Grand Cherokee, E-Class wagon, F-150, etc), or get seat time in my wife's Genesis sedan, when I return to the Odyssey I am still impressed at how well it drives - considering that it's a minivan. Steering feel, suspension tuning (both in handling and body control), input weighting - superb.
It's a fabulous vehicle. I judge vehicles by how well they achieve their design goals. The Odyssey is a home run.

My 2000 Odyssey is coming up on 175,000 miles on the original tranny. It is comically bad at this point though.
