Mustang Meets Raccoon

Hello Oppo.

So, over the weekend I was driving on some great twisty country backroads en route to my parent's lake house. It was 11p.m. as I had gotten off work late. As I am driving down this 40mph road, all of the sudden a Raccoon ran right in front of me. There is no shoulder and there was no way for me to swerve so I smacked it head on. Raccoon Down.

Then I instantly pulled over into some farmer's driveway to look at my car. My Mustang's front splitter was hanging down off the bumper and the bumper had a slight crack. I went home, put the car on ramps and took off the splitter, hoping I could fix it. Unfortunately the bumper, splitter, and under engine shield all needed replacement.

I went to get estimates at my local Ford dealer as well as another body shop in town and they both quoted $1400. Great, now I have to get insurance involved. It is a sad day. Damn Raccoons should all burn in hell!

Sorry for the rant.

1400$? Have you tried seeing it you can get the insurance money, buy second-hand parts for cheaper, spend a weekend in the garage installing them, and pocket the extra dough?

Honestly, I don't have the time or patience to do that. I work close to full-time and I am a full-time college student. Good idea, but would not work for my situation.
